Time to assemble a nice photo wall of all my old and not so oldhammers, to prove I was into oldhammer before it was cool. Or after, depending on your perspective. Enjoy the warm musty glow of nostalgia!

Ah those memories. I even spotted one of the first miniatures I painted - a plastic skaven that came in a box set with orcs, goblins, skaven, dark elves, and wood elves [edit: also dwarfs!]

I'm getting all misty eyed now.

This is making me cry.

I miss my Skeletons and GW chaos warriors....

I remember that guy in the spiked helmet, especially.

Spectacular work!
I recognize a few of my figures in there and many more I wish I had.

I love the old-school GW style. I can't usually afford the originals, but I've considered many times putting together a force of BTD fantasy figs of similar style that are still in production today.

Thanks for looking!

Hey Eilif I hear that foundry miniatures are good and they have the rights to some of citadel's old 80s minis. Most are strictly second hand though. I find the best way to get them cheap is to save your money for February and march, only look at auctions, buy it now is a racket, and be patient and opportunistic.

Yeah, Foundry has quite a few of the Citadel historicals including the very nice "Fighting Men" series. Most of my old lead (Citadel, Grenadier, Ral Partha, etc) comes from convention flea markets where I buy bags or boxes of old lead for a song.

Once a buddy and I bought a bin of "random" lead, 200 figs for $40 bucks. No Citadel, but it had almost the entire range of late early 80s Ral Partha Dwarves in it! More recently he bought a bag of rats at our FLGS's auction (about a buck each) and found 5 of the pre-skaven ratmen amongst some 90's skaven and Harlequin rat men. He just painted them up this week and you can see them here:

Quite common at conventions.

In 2007 (or around there) I bought 700 LotR miniatures in a garbage bag for $25. It took me a year to get them sorted out, and repair the usable ones (out of the ~700, only ~500 of them were salvageable. I use the remaining miniatures as bits for conversions).

Convention Flea-Markets are a gift from the gods.

Thanks for the link Eilif, those 1986 ratmen are my favourite skaven too. They have so much detail and individuality.
