I sure most folk know all this already but I'll pop it up in case it's of any help to some. Quick, cheap, easy way for photo'ing you really figs. Piece of A3 paper from my school photocopier (has a ruined building template on the back lol) in front of 2 cans of spray primer. 2 lights - the bigger is what I use on my paint desk the other is nabbed from my bedroom. Nothing fancy - cheaper lights from the supermarket and my camera on a tripod (tres important). I use a canon d50 but works just as well with a cigerette camera. I shot my terms at 1/2 sec f.32. Use the self timer to avoid lens shake. Really simple and gets decent results

Hope it helps

TBH that is too much light for my photography stuff, will reflect too much hence the box setup I made!

If I had a decent camera id just do something similar to yours though

Ok, here is my finished entry for this month's painting challenge. I have used bits from a terminator kit, and an em4 'space ranger' sergeant to convert a space marine captain wielding a relic blade and "Primarch's Wrath". These photos were as good as I could get.

Right, like always it's a pain in the ass to take decent pictures. The miniatures always look so bad in them.

Anyway, here it is! Inverse, the Destruction Librarian!

If I'm allowed some fluff:

Inverse (kudos if you recognize the name) is a Librarian that has almost no Divination capabilities. He's even unable to use the Emperor's Tarot. He compensates this flaw by being one of the biggest masters of Destruction to date: Any power related to the annihilation of his foes will come to him easily, with no dangers of being overwhelmed by the Warp.
Because of this, he was given the task of breaching a heavy concentration of Alpha Legion cultists and troops together with a combat squad acting as an escort. He's seen here shooting lightning from his right hand and preparing a fireball on his left as he casually walks the street to meet the few remaining enemies. Those will taste his force weapon, a Katana.

The Yin-Yang symbol is quite important for my chapter: They are one of the few that believe the God-Emperor IS a God, the "Sun God" in fact. A long time ago, their system was engulfed in a Warp Storm, the world of Gensokyo III was under attack by demons and their fate was sealed, until one night, under the light of a full moon, a women appeared mysteriously, claiming she was sent by the Sun God himself to help his loyal servants in this time of dire need. Satsuki she was called, the Moon Saint the people named her. This was before the system of Gensokyo was found by the Imperium of Men, so after that event, they remained with the firm belief he's a true God and as such, my chapter is a big ally of the Ecclesiarchy and there's an Adeptus Sororitas order dedicated to Saint Satsuki.
So, in short, translating Yin and Yang, Yin is the Moon and Yang is the Sun.

You know how the damn Imperium it is, a few millenia between our time and 40th millenium and everything seems to be messed up!

Sorry, I'm nowhere near as smart . The Yin-Yang reversal was a "mistake", I just painted it as I felt it looked cooler

Took a few pictures of my progress. First is my kit bashed Eversor. He is pretty much finished.

And early WIP of his BA "handlers".

Progress is happening slowly but surely. Should have them done in a few days.

Also, great to see other people's work. There is some incredible work going on here.

Oooh, I really like the assassin. Smaller shoulders and no backpack make me happy.
Ba are looking solid too.

Here's where Brother Badassius is:

So still a ways to go. He'll look *much* better after I fix all of the overspray and re-black all of the panels that got extra colors on them during painting. Decided to paint the paper stuff in a bone/parchment color so that's going kind of slow, should have just airbrushed them that color..live and learn I guess.

After the black fixes, and the parchment is done.. I'll have to get my scribble on, and start taking care of little details like the SM helmet eyes, and other lenses, and a few oddments here and there.

Brother Badissius is ridiculously over the top and may be the most 40ksih model I've seen. Thats a good thing.

Finished one of the BA handlers. Hope to have at least another one done by the end of the day. Then I'll finish off the other this week.

How is everyone else coming along???
