I'm curious about how local play styles and metas affect match ups.
Please post which army(s) you play frequently, and what is the best match up for you, and the worst.
Lizardmen: Best Orcs and Goblins, worst End Times Undead
Orcs and Goblins: Best Brettonians, Worst End times Elves
Undead: Best toss up between Elves and Lizardmen, worst is dwarfs.
Chaos Legion: Best is empire, worst is dwarf. (should note that my legion is beast and daemon, no mortals).

I play Brets, Dark Elves, and Wood Elves.
As Brets, my favourite matchup is OnG.
My least favourite is Dorfs.
As Dark Elves, I dont have a least favourie matchup.
Wood Elves-wise, the matchup that I find the worst is WoC.

TOMB KINGS:
Best matchup: orcs and goblins, ogres, or anything else with low-LD. Also Vampire Counts, oddly enough, since they're the stronger book.
Worst matchup: warriors, dark elves, or anything that out-ranged us (Dwarfs, Skaven, LC empire...and Bretonnia funnily enough).
VAMPIRE COUNTS:
Best matchup: Bretonnia, orcs and goblins, non-light council Empire.
Worst Matchup: elves. Wood Elves because they dance around us and pick us apart. Dark Elves because of their high attack volume. High Elves because we don't have much that can chrew through a BotWD unit. I also really hate facing dwarfs.

I wuld argue that HIgh and Dark Elves are the worst matchup for Lizardmen. They simply cannot miss the Lizards in CC. They make up in volume of hits what they lack in strength. I freaking hate fighting elves.
And high BS bolt throwers are bad for my dinosaurs.

I can see that. You simply cannot go into melee at all unless odds are stacked very heavily in your favor. Any equal point fights are going to end poorly for the lizards. In my games against elves, I've resorted to pummeling them with razordon fire (unit of 6 is wonderful), salamanders and magic, and then hitting thinned units hard, while fleeing from everything else.
My only saving grace with elves is that so many people are playing them, a lot of those people just aren't that good.
On the other hand, an undead scream list that is swapped out its core for bows is down-right deadly. Low Ld everywhere makes screams very dangerous, and asp arrows are all too good at killing my poor skinks.

Undead: Best matchup probably WoC/Legions just because my core are so bad that they are worse than everyone else's (unless I take chariots) that it negates the advantage chaos core has over other races (because they would have been better than me anyway and are just paying points for over kill) and the fact that I am practically immune to their characters in the units that matter. Worst matchup is probably Dwarfs/Gunline empire, just because they are capable of meeting in the magic phase to stop me raising sufficient troops as well as having the firepower to actually kill stuff before it hits combat time. N.B. I hate mirror match as undead since everyone has the same lists pretty much. Wood Elves/Eternity King: Best match up is probably Dwarfs since their warmachines don't do gak against the small footprint of my units, my wizards are probably level 5 and I have the most bullgak of gimmicks at my disposable which just gaks all over the comparatively bland and repetitive dwarf lists and the fact that my shooting outranges most of his. Worst matchup is probably any cav or monster mash list, they are both the hardest things for elves to get through, heavy cav (which have arrows and fists bounce right off of them) and monsters which are hard to wound (especially sphinges which counter my great weapon infantry, the normal counter to monsters) on top of this both lists negate the fact that elf infantry is the fastest in the game (after Slaanesh anyway). Which means it ends up being cloth and fists against steel and bigger fists.

Daemons. Dont usually have many bad match ups except anyone mobile running death due to my love of Fateweaver and nurgle. Reign of chaos sorts out MSU armies, espically when I go on a spree of 6's (known to happen a lot!). MSC (multiple small casting) spells usually sort out the rest of MSU as well. Toe to toe not much stands against speed of lighted plague bearers.
Warriors. MSU dark elves are a issue due to their high movement and damage out put. Any big units I can usually handle fine. Empire (well certain lists) due to good shooting and magic.
These are more best/worst match ups due to my list preferences with Daemons and Warriors.

Tzeentch Daemons:
Best match-ups; WoC, Brets, Empire. Lots of lovely, expensive 2+/1+ saves everywhere which Lore of Tzeentch is pretty good for nuking. (yay Gateway!)
Exalted Flamer + 3 regular Flamers & Furies are good for clearing out the chaff, while the Exalts can also double-duty and make a mess of the small knight units or chariots. Burny Chariots are decent, and Grinders are frankly spectacular for both shielding a LoC and supporting in combat. Baleful Torrent works wonders for removing any unfortunate Regen.
Worst match-ups; Elves of all flavours, especially High Elves & any kind of horde army.
Elves are just plain rude to Daemons in general, but especially Tzeentch & Khorne who are generally overcosted for the most part. (Khorne especially so - poor buggers!) Elves simply do everything Tzeentch is supposedly 'good' at, only at least 5x better...
Vs. horde armies such as Skaven, there's just too damn many of them to try and take out, and Tzeentch's magic options are overall terrible vs. large infantry-based armies. Lore of Metal is all but useless vs. the likes of Skaven or O&G's, while the only reliable horde controlling spell in Tzeentch is Firestorm.
One thing of note, I don't use Kairos at all. In part because I simply prefer my own characters vs. specials, and also because my LGS still treat both Fatey & Teclis as if they're still the heinously broken gakkers they used to be before their respective 8th ed books toned them way down.
