Inquisition.
No OS. Low toughness/armour saves. Psybacks/plasma servitors/DCA with priests in LRC with psybolts all providing units with high damage potential but low durability (minus the LRC).
Only really feasible solo in games lower than 1500pts unless your opponent allows you to take more than 2 detachments (banned in some non-tournament setting places apparently, and at all tournaments). They would be playable solo in larger games if GW would just allow them to be troops so you could take a CAD, and allowed vendettas for AA.

Buy the little-known Codex: Small Woodland Animals. It takes great skill to win a game using rabbits and hedgehogs -- many people say that the badgers are unbalanced, but you can build a reasonable army without them, or just don't take the Ion Accelerator.

While it's true that Dark Eldar are famous for spamming transports, and are quite good at it, our codex is balanced such that there is no "right" way to play them. Even Wytches are ok in the right circumstances. For non vehicle options check out Haemonculus Covens

I wouldn't like to lose my speed, but beyond that I welcome any non transport spam suggestions.

As for the Coven. There is basically one faction amongst the Eldar I have no gripes with, and those are Corsairs. I think a DE army could make decent Corsairs with all their sails and pirate-like looks. However, not sure if space pirates would run around with giant flesh hulks. Any conversion ideas to stick with the theme?
(and no, FW Corsair list is not an option )

With DE Corsairs I could see it. They're crafty and seek any advantage they can. Hulking flesh monsters are a huge one. As for conversion ideas I haven't modeled enough to know what even could work let alone will. But, If you post in the P&M section here at Dakka, I'm sure you'll some awesome feedback from awesome people.

Whatever, the white vorpal rabbit is broken, squirrel rush nut-listing is OP, and I can't wait until they nerf the stacking of skunk AoE bonus, Pepe hug, Flower friendship, Wind in the Willows transport bonus. That's just not fun to play against and is a real hobby killer. Don't even start me on Watership Down bunny court nonsense.

Militarum Tempestus. Or how's that IG SWAT called.

Anywayz, you can build a challenging list with almost any codex (except for IK or alike). Orks could run a bunch of footslogging manz, flash gitz, tankbustas backed up with gun - looted wagons and grots. That'd be a challenge. AM could run a bunch of Ogryns and Rough riders backed up by ratlings and psycher-squads, etc.

People regard dark eldar as a glass cannon but they've got plenty of options not to actually break the glass.

Squirrel rush nut-listing? So that's what the kids are calling it today

Not necessarily. Outside of some of the Grotesques, the vehicles are fairly fragile and other than Archons, most DE troops die to Boltguns as if Boltguns actually did something. The best way to run them, from what I've seen playing my buddy who plays them competitively, is as a glass cannon. Move in hard and fast, flank your enemies, and strike them before they can strike you.

Corpsethieft, Grotesques, Beast packs are still durable. They do have options for very tough units. It's up to your preference. I mean, eldar are supposed to be a glass cannon too. And they are! If you run footslogging dire avengers/guardians, Avatar of Khorne Khaine, banshees, warwalkers, etc.

Dark eldar have an advantage of speed and that everything can be put in fast skimmers that are more durable than an average ork truck due to jink and gun range.

Nothing has a range greater than 12". Boltguns will pretty much kill on site. Each model gets a single shot. However, if it gets into melee, it can do a little damage.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.
