So I've been trying to create a space marine squad, slightly more in line with the fluff (super soldiers in small numbers) and to represent a small squad set up to handle anything.

I've tried to keep it legal using actual model rules to represent something else. Mostly these will be custom marines with weapons/wargear that are as similar as possible (or fit my theme) to the model's rules.

Would you be willing to play against this list?

Captain of the squad - really hard marine that is difficult to kill (similar to the captain from DoW2) - chapter master clan raukaan, articifer armour, gorgon's chain, thunder hammer, Storm bolter

The Flamer - the squad member who cleanses things with fire - vulkan rules - will be a flamer weilding marine on the tabletop.

The tank guy - the squad member who deals with armour - captain clan Raukaan, betrayer's bane, articifer armour, melta bombs.

The medic - brother corbulo rules - will be a standard apothecary

The heavy bolter guy - the squad member who lays down heavy fire support - grey knight captain, terminator armour, psilencer - will represent a heavy bolter carrying marine on the tabletop

3 bolter tacticals - to better represent bolters I've chosen these, on the tabletop they'll all be bolters plus any additional weapons)
Dark angel captain with articifer armour, chainsword and foe smiter relic
Imperial fists Captain with chainsword, armour indomitus and primach's wrath relic
Pedro Kantor

Assault guy - blood angel captain, with valor's edge, articifer armour, jump pack and fury of Baal.

So would you be willing to play against this kind of list?
Please feel free to comment on any suggestions for improvements.

Sure. Without eternal warrior or movie marine stat changes, powerfists and heavy weapons will clean them right up.

And then there's the matter of their hilariously low damage output for their points cost and lack of transport...

To me the jump pack guy ruins your theme, you are aiming here to make a space marine squad right? Theres no way that one guy with a jump pack is in with a "normal" squad of movie style marines, were he on foot like the rest with an assault based loadout I'd find it more thematic but in throwing on an assault pack you might aswell as in Biker Dude and his pal Captain Centurion

Soon his foes would learn that the only thing more dangerous than a savage three hundred pound brute is a savage three hundred pound brute with a plan - Ork Codex

So you want 1 rule breaking squad but the rest of your army will be legal? Let me take one or two PA characters that shouldn't be able to be in my list and sure, I'll play. Allow me the same flexibility, I'd make a similar themed super squad and we can throw down. No problems here.

Fair enough on the jump pack front.

It's just an unbound list using actual rules representing different models at 1500 points.

Would a movie marine list be better?

I would play against it. I have enough str 8+ AP2 weaponry to evaporate this list relatively effortlessly.

I admit I don't think it will be a good list. Just something I've been experimenting with and wanted to make it a legal list (with variant models) rather than a house rule list.

Just something I want to try out to make custom marines and have low model count.

I couldn't really think of a better way to do it legally.

I think what you're going for would probably be better represented with movie marines, though movie marines run into their own issues.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

I think this could be fought with Ork sluggaboys in trukks with Nobs + PK. The problem with any elite army is that for 6 points a model, I can throw a large number of S4 attacks that, while not rending, ID, etc... will cause you to eventually role a 1.

Given the shooty nature, perhaps taking a large number of Stormboys (and nobs+ pk ) given their rokkitpack move might work too.

And for the points you spent on upgrades, that's a lot of boyz.

I think what you could do is make a Deathwatch unit instead. Then it fits the theme that there's a bunch of Marines in the squad with special gear. You can pick and choose all the toughest Space Marine named characters from the game and make a 'unit' out of them. Draigo etc.

Naturally as long as unbound is legal, the army is legal. Your army won't be large if all your guys are 200 ish point named heroes, so you can do a 10 man squad in just about 1850 points.

Maybe once for the novelty. If the whole thing just gets onesidedly gunned down the game isn't really interesting enough to be worth unpacking your models for.

Yeah, though you can also see it as an opportunity to play some of those models collecting dust, or another suboptimal themed army.

I was going to suggest death watch as well. Man I used to love those rules, pretty outdated now but you could modify them.

Honestly I would change your approach to get the same end result. Make a scenario/modified rules set that allows both players to build something fluffy and unique. Maybe base it on death watch or zone mortalis with some tweaks. I think your games would be much more fun and balanced.

This. Most games involving this list are going to be a one-sided slaughter. Either your opponent has lots of anti-MEQ weapons and your squad of expensive foot MEQs is wiped off the table before it can do anything besides roll saves, or you somehow find an opponent who can't deal with MEQs and you crush them effortlessly. Either way that's not much fun and I'd probably ask you to take a normal army instead.

Hey now. Sometimes being on the receiving end of a one-sided slaughter is pretty fun regardless of the loss. : D

Why, just today I played my first WH40k game in well over a year, maybe in over two years. Got it done in two sessions in a single day. Consistently amazing rolls by my opponent combined with frequent poor armor saves on my part, but it was still very fun and when it was over I wrote a little story about the battle to my good friend.

I'll put it this way. 750pts, Unbound, Orks VS Sisters/Vanilla Marines. Smallish table. Orks siezed the initiative. Orks reached melee in turn 2. After turn 2 all I had left was 2 squads of 5 Retributors with 2 heavy bolters and a stormbolter in each, and had killed a handful of Boyz, a Loota, and a Big Mek. By the end of turn 3 I was down to 2 Retributors. I didn't get a turn 4. It was a kill points mission and I lost 10-2.

There were some spiffy moments. A grotzooka getting direct hits with both shots on a clump of Sororitas and landing 12 hits, of which I failed 7 saves (I forget how many wounded). A Space Marine Captain and a squad of Sororitas getting charged from over a hill and failing just BARELY enough saves to wipe them all from the table before the Captain's Thunder Hammer got to attack. The Big Mek's first shot with his Shokk Attack Gun rolling a 6,4, direct hit, and wiping half a squad of Sororitas (who made 3 of 8 6++ saves) off the table on the first turn. And the last two models I had pumping bolts of various calibers into the advancing Killa Kan, wrecking it.

What made it fun for me was the narrative. In video games and in movies, a desparate holdout against overwhelming odds is my favorite situation. So when I lost three quarters of my Troops on the first two turns, I was a bit disheartened at first. But then I saw my Captain, and his squad, hiding behind a hill from the enemy guns. And I knew what they were going to do next. They were going to charge over that hill, into the Boyz on the other side, and they were going to kill as many greenskins as they could get their hands on. And I believed they could win. Of course, then she got to do her assault phase and that squad disappeared under the mass of 20 Slugga Boyz. So then I realized that defeat was inevitable. since I had 1 point and she had 7. Rather than concede though, I decided to fight it out, and kill as many Orks as I could. I thought maybe I could kill enough of them to matter if I got lucky, but I also figured that my Sororitas wouldn't give up in this situation - they'd hold their ground and keep pumping mini-rockets into the Orks until being martyred. It was a glorious fight, a last stand (even though two Sororitas survived and fled off the table edge after failing a morale test, but I figured maybe they were going to warn someone, and the others were covering their retreat) and it was so fun just to have the narrative play out in my head that I honestly didn't care that I'd lost.

Sure, one game that turns into a one-sided slaughter can be fun if you can put it into an appropriate narrative context and you didn't have any hopes of an interesting strategic game. But when it happens every game what's the point in playing? 40k is fun when it's a game of move vs. counter-move, if it's just "we put our models on the table, and then I roll dice until your army is gone" it's barely even a game anymore. A lot of the lists that beat the OP's list aren't just going to beat it easily, they're going to do it so thoroughly that the OP never has even the slightest hope of accomplishing anything before their army is wiped off the table.

Right. It's like, boom, one Baneblade cannon shell, half of his capability.

Boom, one Demolisher cannon shell (even from the same baneblade) and there goes everyone else.
