Erm, ...honestly? IF you use these in a way I would advise you to use them as side additions...to the sponsons...kinda like extra armor.... But now it looks a wee bit silly and...well girly...but not in a good way...I know girls want to play with tanks too...but...please no rl bling on a LR....I hope I didn't sound too chauvinistic now...

Well, there could be a reason it looks girly, Vik.
To be honest I'm wondering if I need smaller ones, and placement. I just had to demonstrate with a method that used gravity rather than glue.

i read that you are a lady...(if i am wrong, i better from now on put my foot in my mouth... )
smaller ones are definitely a step in the right direction...my concerns where mostly about symmetry... smaller allows you that better than with the bigger ones...
by the way... for mock up sessions ... use a small drop of water... it is often underestimated how sticky small amounts of water can be...fat surface bind for a short period of time quite stable...at least for the time to take a pic

It's hollow, weighs about 1.2 kilos, and is weighted so that the stock balances out with the muzzle pretty well. Quite honestly I'm not going to carry it around with me more than one day a year, so it doesn't greatly matter.

I think you'll find that I'm a fictional commissar...
It's very girly because I want to see if white and delicate can still be stylish in an army. I mentioned the gems for a joke, as I had them spare from making a present for a friend. I was told I absolutely cannot use them, so of course that's a challenge right there... I'll see how the rest of the scheme goes before I fit anything. I want to stick with square ones either way, but placement is eluding me.

I'm slowly getting there tonight with the tank. The blues and gun metals, then a dark wash for the white, tracks and blue wash for the blue, before highlighting.
I will still use the larger stones, they'll go on the "rim" I'm touching in the photo, and be mostly hidden by the turret when fitted.
As they say, "Never feel self-pity for growing older. There are many people who never had the opportunity to do so."

but those are dead... so no harm there...
this might actually work... would posh it up, but not too OOT...
i think the main issue here is then that you time the spaces inbetween the gems... symmetry wins the day^^

Thanks for the inputs!
I'll be unable to return to painting until quite likely July, now.
I may not get to finish my Kelpie for the contest either. Came back to my parents home in short order to get the end of this dice bag order completed.
My own fault for being very irresponsible with work timing.
That said, the bags are going well, just closing them up now.

Well, because I've got a lot of time to sit around between embroidering dice bags, here's a little insight into what I do to alleviate the boredom... It's not painty, but it's crafty.
I sneak in a few of my own designs... I made these two bags for my RPG group.
One is for a big fan of the Supernatural TV show (I don't think there are small fans...) and another is a Skitarii player. I'll be hopefulyl surprising them with these the next time we play Only / Heresy RPG.
If I can resist playing Santa for that long. I love seeing people excited.
Here is how a design starts life - a vector effectively. This I traced from a simple ad-mech desktop I doodled..
Then you set things like stitch density and direction... Yawn.
Then you *yawn* test out the digital preview.... Looks smooth to me.
Then you pray that your machine likes the file you just made...
Feed in the colours one at a time...
There we have it, quick and dirty dice embroidery. I will sew up the bags tomorrow in better daylight.
These are for presents. They're not making me any cash, so I have no bones with posting them here. I can't even say they're for personal use, as I'm a special kind of idiot and forgot to make one for myself.

hey! congratz for frontpage!
also...
cool stitching/embroidery...
these look very cool, tho i gotta ask, is the skull intentionally a bit longer above than the original? and with what programme do you make the vector graphics?... free ware or bought?
the supernatural icon escapes me, as does the show... i never really got into that one...
but i gotta ask again, why do sacks and not go for the full monty and do hoodies or somethng like that? i bet there would be a finacial twist about such a product...
speaking of... what do you charge for something like that?

Aahh, it's an invasion of ork! Very cool indeed.
I was a bit horrified to make front page with unfinished planes! I can but hope they are well received when I complete them.
The skull is the design GW used on its car decals, it's one that I knew my friend liked, as I scanned it to make his desktop. No other real reason for the shape. Personally I prefer the more complex admech logo.
Vik, I make hoodies, scarves, work shirts, etc. I just put the customer's design on them as they ask. Right now it is 100 dice bags for an rpg company.
If you have a design in mind, you can PM me with it. I have links to my past works and such that I can show you. I just keep my business name off Dakka, for various reasons. One being if I offend someone here, they could go feth up my eBay listings.

A few years ago, I never bothered hiding who I was. Back then, I used a message board that was somewhat less civil than most. Call it a closed-community 4chan type of site.
Anyway I was pretty happy using it for the more social side. We shared links, files, etc. I even went to a few meets and stayed at houses of a few members.
Then some trolls started picking on various members at random. I was one of them. They found out pictures of me, found my Facebook, messaged my (retirement age) father with abuse and spammed my personal websites.
So now I separate fun from my real name.

I'm back home for two days, that means I can try and get the Kelpie done and then go back and do the last dice bags...
Thankfully the water set while I was away, I just need to white tip it, fill in the seaweed and eyes, mouth and little details.
Also sort the base out because I blacked it very wobbly.
It's cleeeaaaar. God I'm so relieved.
Mouse also did more stupid art for the players handout. This is one of very few pieces that's incoherent enough not to be a spoiler. Excuse the unfinished-ness.

Ha! The Mustang! Except this one didn't kill anyone by falling on them. I might kill someone if they drop it, though, so a fair comparison.
And thanks Wolfblade! I'm getting close to actually finishing some of them (and starting more...).
I also haven't mentioned my biggest project in here which is restoring an Aquila Lander that some silly beggar smashed to pieces.
I've finally tracked down someone who has the pieces I'm missing, and I'm hoping they're legitimate. Quite frankly as its out if production I have no way to tell.

Hehe, well it's not commission work, I want to play in the Council of War Event at Warhammer World, where 4 friends team up to fight 4 friends, but one of my team hasn't the initiative or the time to paint his army.
Plus it gets "I wanna admech" out of my system.
Vik, Commissar had too much of a good night methinks. Someone seems to have stolen his hat, too..

Well horse-butt is nearly done. HOORAY
Waves are still curing, they'll be milky-clear one the foam areas. Need to sort out finishing touches, teeth, highlights, etc. (Haylights?)
And what's this? New toys?
I've been slowly picking up WarColours paints since they popped up, ready to do my IG. They're very fluid, so I'll hopefully be able to get a nice finish.
I've been looking for a way to do skin both interestingly and quickly, being that my Tanith only have four poses between them.
Bam! Flesh tone set.
If you can't tell 1 and 2 apart, don't worry, neither can I. I feel a little gypped there. I'm honestly not sure that needed to be so similar.
Greens! I'm somewhat green-brown colourblind but I'm pretty sure these are entirely too bright for forest colours. I can't think of anything I'm every going to paint neon green, apart from that horse's eye highlight.
