I'm looking at restarting my Chaos again!!! After looking over the LVO finalist lists I'm very interested in Vincente Arroyo's #7 over all list.

List
Spoiler:
http://bloodofkittens.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Vincente-F.-Arroyo-6th-Overall-Las-Vegas-Open.pdf

Basically it's
Sorcerer
2 min units of Cultists
2 Hell blades
Predator
Brass Scorpion

3 Heralds of Tzeentch all mastery level 3 with 2 Exalted gifts
3 min units of horrors.

Considering that I already own most of these units and now have a excuse to get myself a Brass Scorpion this could be a really fun list to play.

I have a couple of questions about this list.
1. How is this LVO legal? It shows him running 2 CADs
2. How should I deploy the the weaker units so they can support the Scorpion but not get blasted off the table turn 1?
3. What is the over all Tactics this list should employ? I get that the Scorpion runs forward and river dances across the table. How does the rest of the army function?

The heralds have grimoire of true names and try to get forewarning to give the scorpion a 2++

Are you sure it was 3 units of horrors and not 2? Not a big fan of minmaxing (and when a lynx nuked the scorpion on turn 1 the game was lost.)

But yeah grimoire/invisibility are pretty strong. running a vehicle with the legacy of the first war of armageddon also boosts its invulnerable (until it gets killed, ofc.. hmm that could work with the hell blades for one turn.. )

The range of the book is only 24 so you got to keep a easily killed high priority target in mid field. Not saying its not good but could be very tricky.

LOL yeah that's ways a risk when running a LoW.
Follow the link is the spoiler tab it clearly shows 2 CADs.
Hell blades turn 1? Dont they have to start in reserve?
I saw nothing in IA13 about legacy of the first war of armageddon also boosts its invulnerable. Could have been looking in the wrong spot.

The blood of kittens lists weren't written by the contestants so there could be some mistakes. .

Ach i'm wrong about the legacy working on it. Its a daemon but not a daemon of khorne. It works on bloodslaughterers.

Having used a Greater Brass Scorpion in a lot of games - let me caution on one thing.

Keep that AV10 rear away from the enemy. Otherwise lots of things can Glance it to death.

Did the heralds take perils for the runes of the blood god when they cast forewarning on the scorpion? I had fatey take a nasty dive after perils from invisibility on the scorpion over the weekend.

The scorpion is a real nasty customer though. Mine took out 2 imp knights (one was the crazy CC FW one that has an invul and some crud where you hit it on 5s or something) Honestly getting just the grimoire off on it will be enough, but I personally wouldn't run the grimoire with the scorpion in mind without the fateweaver insurance. Getting -1 invul for a turn would be serious bad news.

Like KiloFiX said, watch that booty armor, make sure you know what your opponent can deep strike, and watch for eldar trickery.

Then bathe in your opponents tears when you make your invul saves.

Cursed Earth. It works on the Scorpion without forcing a Perils.
