Some of you guys were talking about Sigismund having an "iconic helmet" ... as the FW model obviously will not include one, how does it look like from descriptions available?

If he had 2 heads he'd be a chaos champion wouldn't he?

I still hope so, but Pollux and Dynat did not get a helmet, so we will have to wait and see ...

The head Polux comes with really miffs me for some reason. His art is amazing and really commanding, whereas the mini as a great pose that's sadly ruined by a shouting head. I personally feel the model would've been better with this head:

I feel the same. That stoic look from the book and pose on the model would have benefited from a head that matches. Nice thing is you can angle the head on the model so hes yelling into his gorget and its not as noticible.

Sigismund doesn't come with another head. People who placed an order for him got him yesterday.

Forgeworld hasn't done an alternate head for any of their Heresy character models as far as i know of. Still annoyed they didn't do one for Vulkan....

How was someone able to order his model? It is not released yet.

You are right regarding Primarchs, but Sevatar and Typhon came with helmet options ...

Sevatar has an alternate head. I thought I saw Vulkan with a helmet once, but that might have been a conversion.

Kharn has the optional head as well.

Doesn't seem to be any logic behind deciding who gets one and who doesn't.

At least the solar auxilia all have the option for the characters, so far.

Ah ok, didn't know they they have bare head options, i know they have helmets. Primarchs would've been great with helms as their are always ornate or at least they should be.

Just wrapped up reading the campaign section of Tempest. It's a bit on the short side, but then again, the book only deals with the first day of the battle.

Though they did hint at doing another book dealing with the underground war, which would take well over ten years to conclude according to the reports given.

Also, the Ultramarines got hit hard, dang.

I think I've said it before but I really hope (although they won't) they make the Khans helmet that he wears in scars. And I think they said Alpharius will have a helmet, but I doubt that will be an alternate head, just the head he comes with.

This is the Khans helmet:

Just a heads up folks- if you're after the Vindicator Laser Destroyer there's like a 5-7 day delay on these. Apparently they're quite popular kits so they can't cast them quickly enough!

That's this model FTAOD

I got my Horus Heresy Book Five yesterday.
It's worth the price (for me).

Rulewise, the are rules for the stormbird, a new castellax variant, an new thanatar variant, Warhound, Reaver and Warlord. And of course all the models they released since the last book (so the second variant for the thantar, the scyllax, the space marine interceptor ...)

And there is this little golden nugget for me: The imperial milita. Super cheap Imperial guardsmen (50 points for 20), with weak guns (S3 Ap-, Assault 1, 18'') and no buffs (no priests, no commisars, no orders). Oh, and without heavy weapons and without special weapons. Oh and with Ld6.

You can buy upgrades (FnP, +1LD, Lasguns, Bolters and so on) To bring them up to the efficiency of a SoB, or you can take even cheaper recruits for 2points each.
With this list you can put Orks and Bugs to shame when it comes to numbers.

Please correct my english. I won't get any better if you don't.

Imperial Guard already could
It sounds like it can take even more bodies in a list than the Renegades army list in IA13 though, in which I came up with a list that had 483 Renegades in it... (at 1500pts).
2pts/model I think is a new low point. Conscripts, basic Renegades, Mutants, (IA13) Plague Zombies and Gretchin (although Gretchin should be 2pts/model) are all 3pts per model, and I can't think of any worse unit that isn't turned into a swarm base instead, like Rippers.

2points/model will by you

2 2 3 3 1 3 6 6+
with a assault1 18'' S3 DS- gun.
(no orders, no heavy weapons, no special weapons, no priests, no commisars)
Unit size 20-50

I guess that's ok.

Nope.

And the Militia list has a pseudo-Commissar entry, which is a step towards the gak was have now, but not quite there just yet.

It's indeed a fun list to feth around with, just a shame that the Sentinel squadrons must come in squadrons of three. Damn it, must buy another one.

Also, the only dedicated transport available is the Gorgon, so my Chimeras are once again still useless..

That's awesome.

And that's lame. Even rag-tag modern insurgents or militias have crew-served weapons. It's disappointing you can't give them even a single heavy stubber. What exactly is this supposed to represent?

The Militia has access to..

Fire Support Squads, which are made up of 5 to 10 heavy weapon teams with access to the usual dakka, including the heavy stubber, multi-laser and heavy flamer.

Grenadier squads have access to special weapons, which includes the usual stuff, along with the heavy stubber and rotor cannon. It's not much, but this squad can take special weapons.

Command squads also have access to special weapons, or bolters and the like.

And you can have a Earthshaker platform for 75 Points. W7 4W and 3+ THAT is pretty badass.
Medics for 10 points each give FnP to a squad.
And you can have some kind of chapter tactics that cost points.
Like +1S for everybody or a 6++ for everybody or +1 to everybodys armorsave ....

sounds like a lot of fun
