Hello everybody,

just finished my first vehicle for a commission, let me know what you think
(with "first" i mean FIRST of my life, I played tyranids 10 years ago and re-started the hobby some month ago)
the model was already painted (very thin color luckily) and the owned told me "I hope you can manage to save it in some way..."
he is happy with the result, and me too

Very nice, but the mould line on the Assault Cannon could be worked on.

Great paint job. Been painting Fists myself for a few years. Quick question on weathering: It looks like you used a sponge with black, then came back and touched it up with silver and a light yellow outline. What colors / progression did you use for the weathering?

That Stormtalon looks like it flew through a serious flakk-storm! Nice weathering and well done.

Lovely model and well done, except for the fact that the red eagle has no weathering on it nor does the black surround on the missile launchers. They both look pristine, don't wanna sound arsey but it throws the model off. Better than I can do though

I'm with flippa.
One would have to suspend belief that with all the heavy usage this Stormtalon has seen, that the aquila and missile pods escaped wear and tear.
It would be an easy fix though.

Overall, I think it looks really good, although I'm not crazy about the base because the obvious use of cork stands out a bit too much.
I use cork a lot, and do everything I can to transform it.

Nice job!

nice work all in all.
criticism:
The metallics need more washes and more work.
The details are a bit underwhelming and could use more highlighting.

I used a tamiya red clear, on the inside

The model was preassembled and with already a layer of (gakky) paint, the owner asked me to "save" it, and my commission is to paint, not polishing, this has another pricelist

the process is:
rhinox hide with black and water (3:1:1 not too liquid)
sponging here and there and then UNDERlined with the base yellow (flash gitz in my case) plus white
the on the bigger brown areas i used very thinned down layers of metallic (can't remember which one), VERY thinned with water, so i can manage better the final effect of traslucent metal coming thru

honestly the weathering on the eagle was a "useless" extra, it is the only red part (except for the cockpit that was a sort of SURPRISE for the customer )and the weathering on the black sadly is horrible =(
I tried it but went back again with black and covered ahahahah
