Subject: Do Space Marine's fancy women?

I know it seems like a silly question but does anyone know of any instances where Astartes have had the hots for a woman? In the Space Wolf codex there is a story about a Wolf Lord who took his entire Great Company on a trip to the edge of the galaxy. Once there they headed out into intergalactic space. After many months they were just about to turn back when they saw a lone planet of some kind, drifting through empty space. When they got there they were greeted warmly by what appeared to be a human population who began to celebrate.
The Space Wolves feasted and drank with them. It was all going swimmingly until one of the Astartes made a pass at one of the women. The reaction from the hosts was sudden and ferocious. Only then did it become obvious that they were anything BUT human. Although the Great Company fought well, they were never heard from again.
Oooh, spooky. Anyway, the point I'm making is that this suggests that they are capable of lusting after women like Jeremy Clarkson after ten pints. Thought anyone?

Space Wolves at the very least are capable of being attracted to women. As evidenced by the Space Wolf Omnibus when the main characters show at least a passive interest. Ragnar and one of the Wolf Blades are walking down a hall on Terra and they're passed by a naked pleasure girl. There are off-hand comments about her attractiveness, although they're clearly not effected by the cloud of pheromones she is doused in. They have an intellectual connection and acknowledgement, but there is little physical attraction.
There is nothing to suggest that marines are incapable of the act of sex although their psychological alteration and physical changes, many of which do utilize natural male characteristics and hormones, likely irreparably alter their libido. In place of arousal they may simply trigger intense aggression. Their libido essentially being rerouted to destroying the enemies of the Imperium.
Space Marines in general have no interest in reproducing sexually, instead they mentally "get off" on their duties as a marine. In a way this makes them similar to serial killers who have sexual dysfunction as the root cause of their tendencies, except its a controlled dysfunction with a directed purpose and outcome. That said, this will vary from chapter to chapter. Some may leave these emotions intact, possibly to give the marines empathy for humanity. With the side effect of leaving them with an intact libido. Marines are basically homicidal maniacs, but they've been tuned to a useful purpose.
That said, it is highly unlikely that a marine would be fertile. They could also suffer from crippling ED even if they were mentally capable. They'd also be a dangerous partner due to their physical strength and size.
Of course, Space Wolves are stereotypical Space Vikings, so they couldn't leave out part of the Viking mythos. The setting isn't exactly known for its consistency.

Eh? I don't follow. It's just a bit of fiction from the codex. If someone dies alone in a film while saying something suitably profound, you don't turn to your missus and say "ah yes but..how do we know they said that, hmm?" If it was supposed to be true maybe, but not fiction because it's just, well, fiction. Automatically Appended Next Post:

Marine sexuality is such a common topic its basically a forum meme. It comes up every 1-2 months in one form or another.

See I've wondered about it myself, but always figured there wasn't an acceptable part of the lore that really dealt with it because GW likes to keep their products (even grimdark 40k) relatively sex free.
I really like Grey Templar's take on the matter, as it does make sense to "focus" the marines towards killing in that manner...however one has to wonder about those marines who went over to Slaanesh...

Chaos would be capable of reversing any programmed suppression of the marine's libido for sure. I mean, they can grow freaking tentacles and new arms. Fixing the family jewels would be the easiest thing in the world.

The Emperors Children have definitely had those tendencies in the fluff, and while GW has avoided overtly explicit language they have used the word rape before in conjunction with them.
It was mentioned during the fluff for the Siege of Terra that the Emperors Children basically slaughtered the entire civilian population who weren't in Imperial controlled areas. The planet was basically depopulated in less than a month between the Emperor's Children, Daemonic incursions, and the orbital bombardment which evaporated the oceans.

if you interpreted that as a SEXUAL intreast in her I think you... misunderstood it. the guy was an Emperor's child. in the thrall of Slaanesh. who has a deep.... intreast in Eldar. thus the EC, as least as I interpeted it had, due to his being in thrall to "she who thirsts" a need to kill her, for his god/goddess.
as for the original topic yeah I tend to like Grey Templars take too. my guess would be that Space Marines, to one degree or another understand what makes a woman attractive, but the biological markers aren't there. Thus a Space Marine can look at a woman and go "she would be considered attractive, I know thus because I learned it as a child. but... she doesn't do anything for me" this would explain why some Marines can tell, and others perhaps may not be so inclined.
