Hello everybody,

After a year or so i decided to return to the 40k hobby and made a new Nurgle list of 2000 points including a Chaos sorcerer on a bike running with a pack of 5 nurgle spawn. I upgraded him as follows:

Sorcerer: 180pts
Bike
Force Axe
Daemonheart
Spell Familiar
Mastery level: 3

My question is with the choice of 3 spells on which spelltable/tables would you roll. I was thinking of Telepathy to try and get Invisibility to cast on my spawn group Would you roll all 3 on the telepathy table to also get the primaris power or would you roll once or twice and get lucky with invisibility and move to another table.

Please share your thoughts and all tips or forms of critisism are welcome.

Greetings Demic

First off, love the models. Sadly, one of the masteries must be spent on a Nurgle power. Asides from that, I usually run Biomancy to make a very tough Nurgle biker (Toughness 9 biker...nuff said)

Nah you don't take the mark of nurgle. In that build I would default to telepathy as shrouding and invisibility really help the spawn. But what I have done is combo with belakor, then roll sanctic daemology on the sorcerer.
Some useful powers , fairly safe to cast with a spell familiar . Hammerhand is particularly pleasant.

Hey Demic,

In almost all of my lists I use a ML3 Sorcerer on a Bike with Spawn. Its a really good unit for the points. The loadout you have in mind works fine in my experience although I've cut the Daemonheart from my lists since it is expensive and the Sorcerer isnt really a good tank with two wounds. Also, once it looses a wound, psychic powers are scary since perils do happen, especially on WC2 or WC3 powers.

Dependant on your list I would roll a combination of Telepathy, Biomancy or Malefic Daemonology. If you use Daemon allies, then the Summoning is best left to them, but otherwise the ability to use Sacrifice, Cursed Earth (Obliterators, Maulerfiends) and Summoning is really good. Summoning will be dangerous, but if you use it to summon Pink Horrors, then the next summons will be more safe.

Biomancy is terrific for Endurance but also for Iron Arm, Enfeeble and to a lesser extent Life Leech and Warp Speed. A Bike Sorcerer with Iron Arm and a Forcesword becomes a very scary T8 threat.

As said, rolling on Telepathy is very usefull for Invisibility, Shrouding, Psychic Shriek and (somewhat less) Terrify. If you're also thinking about using Be'Lakor then I'd roll on Biomancy. I'd roll 2x Telepathy, 1xMalefic or 2x Biomancy, 1xMalefic in most cases.

Important: remember that Iron Arm only affects the sorcerer.
Because of majority toughness rules, it's generally pretty useless against shooting :(

Thank you all for the kind words and great tips.

@Captyn_Bob: I do not own Belakor at the moment but i like the idea.

@Cilithan: Sadly I don't own any Daemon models so as much as I like the sound of summoning I can't use that at the moment.

@Talon of Anathrax: I see your point about the majority toughness rule during the shooting face but T8 would still be awesome in assault

I think i will try out Telepathy with a mix of Biomancy. Iám also thinking of cutting out the Daemon heart not really sure what to do with the points.

Also trying to make a 1500 and 1750 army list beside my 2000 points but I find it difficult to remove models i really want to play with.

Thank you all for the feedback and ofc more tips are always welcome.

Are you sure that assault doesn't use majority T too? I don't have BRB at hand, but I think that it's majority rule in both assault and shooting.

The thing about assaulting with Chaos is they always have to issue a challenge.

But the enemy doesn't have to accept it.

^ why is the challenge ever an issue?
