Not a lot of progress on here, what with all the Mechanicum painting I've been doing, but I have made some progress.

First off is the Plasma Support squad is 90% done, I need to make the bases actually look impressive and blend the plasma, but are good to go other than that. I used all the heads with down slanted grills on these guys to give them more of a menacing appearance compared to the bolter wielding mk IV guys, but kept the white faceplate theme going.







I also have a normal apothecary awaiting paint

Is it a normal apothecary though? Or is it soul hunter?

Plasma support squad is looking cool so far. The white faceplate looks great.

Thanks dude I was thinking of changing them further down the line into normal terror markings, but I haven't really decided yet

Finally made more progress on my army after a bunch commission work and running a tournament but I'm really excited about a Herald I'm converting from one of the Age of Sigmar Khorne Guys.

Glad to see you back at it, I love your take on the night lords. The helmet on this guy just isn't doing it for me for some reason though. It could just be the color difference between it and the plastic though.

I think it's because Marine helmets tend to sit lower because of the bulk of the armour. They also tend to look lower again because of the bulk of the backpacks. The AoS Khorne Dudes are pretty bulky as well which makes the FW helmet look a bit smaller.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I agree the head isn't quite the same as it is on a marine, probably because this guy's neck is crazy thick lol. Definitely will be looking to see what I can do to mitigate that

Sounds like Heresy, but you could drill out the bottom of the helmet and then crack it slightly apart like he was wearing it then grew ginormous.

Crablezworth suggested sneaking in another shoulder pad and a backpack; I'll see if the additions help balance out the model somewhat. If not then maybe I'll try an Iron Armour head, but I want to stay away from mutation as much as possible

I'm working on an aos conversion right now as well and you'd be amazed what just a shoulder pad and backpack can do to help the imagination along.


Think of what kharn would look like if he didn't have at least one pad and the backpack. He'd look weird. If you can't fit a pad on the banner arm, you coud leave it as is and just see what a backpack looks like. I'd probably suggest cutting up his should and putting a marine pad over the aos one.

Here's some progress; I added a pack and a chaos knight pad to make his head look more proportional. Painting wise I'm treating myself to a little blending work and higher detail than usual which should really help make this guy into a center piece.

Herald is 90% done, only needs the base now. I really din't do that much lightning on him compared to my normal models, but theres enough contrast on the blue to not need it imo.

I think I might repaint Sevetar's blue armour so it better matches with the herald and curze

So its been a while as I've been really busy, but I've recently acquired some quad launchers and just built them. I was able to curb my enthusiasm enough to remember not to glue the weapons in, leaving me the possibility of easy swaps out for any future weapons.



I also started repainting Sevetar to better match the Herald, so far I've just painted the different shades and it still all needs to be blended together.



The pictures are a bit wonky as I'm using a new camera that really underlines how bad my lighting is, tho I did try to salvage them with some editing.

Love those artillery pieces, they're going to be the bomb when painted! Sevetar is looking brutal to be sure.

Hey guys, I've been extremely busy and on top of not getting a lot done, I've forgotten to update my progress of what I did paint!

First some more progress on the thudd guns. I gave them a green glow on the barrels since the entire point is to use phosphex rounds. they still need some more work and aren't 100% yet




And the coolest thing I've painted in a while, a Leviathan dreadnought.






Since the original painting I went back and cleaned up the lightning on the leg and flayed skin, added a green glow to the phosphex launcher, changed the frag launchers to silver, and stuck it on the only 80mm base I had

Your lightning work is superb. The blood on the tabard an cloth looks very realistic, normally I feel blood is OTT or looks out of place, yours looks really good.

Wow, another long time without any updates, I've just been so busy at work along with my usual gaming buddies that i've had less time to play, thus less motivation to get stuff painted.

Thats all changed though!

I got a bunch of of chain glaives from anvil industries, and a brand new Knight Atropos that i've been working on too. Unfortunately nothing is 100% done, the one set of raptors being around 70% tops, but its still some new stuff.








I'm painting the Knight up to be fairly neutral in loyalty, I want to be able to use it with my raven guard in the future. The scheme also kind of reflects this split loyalty; red and black for the ravens, bronze trim for the VIIIth.








Its a bit tricky to show off the entire model, but hopefully the admittedly terrible pictures give a general idea of what they look like with the two handed glaives. They're all going to look fairly similar to the more painted guys.








I decided to paint the lightning-ier trim as lightning since there's a ton of bronze details on these models and I didn't think I'd have the space to do normal amounts of it. hopefully it'll look fine when they're all finished.

Yea those quad mortars are broken beyond belief. Phosphex should never have been given to them lol.

It's really cool, but because I've had the top carapace off for a while it actually looks weird when I put it on now lol
