Love the idea but why does it have to be a new codex for a few selected units. Why can't gw just make a supplement? Thoughts?

I'd rather just have the single codex than to have to reference 3 different books in a game. Even if it was just supplement, it will still cost about the same AND require you to have another book. I see no benefit in making it a supplement over a full codex.

'Cause they proved with the Imperial Knights codex that people will buy it, and they make a lot more money that way?

Pretty much this. a lot of Chaos fluff bunnies like to play mono god. I can't wait for Slaanesh's Codex, personally.

I dunno, I think the more individual codexes they put out for every little thing, means you'll have to wait that much longer for them to get around to making the one you want. If it was just a rules book with some formations, they could probably sell it cheaper and knock 'em out faster. Full Codexes take more time to write with all the fluffy. But they certainly don't wanna sell 'em cheaper.

Point. But I think GW is trying to mollify everyone that was enraged by the quick jump to 7th from what I've seen here.

The problem inevitably comes when they update C:CSM and then, as usual, fail to update C:KDK and we get two books with identical units with two different sets of rules and prices. Much like the Chimera right now in C:AM and C:INQ

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

If this is the only way we will get these rules, I am not complaining.
