i really like that the new Daemonkin codex has a Relic in it that replicates the way you used to deploy the Bloodthirster in the Dawn of War PC game.

Currently it loses D3 wounds at the end of each of your turns. I am going to give the following house rule a try to better reflect how it worked though.

At the end of each of your turns the Bloodthirster loses D3 wounds unless it is engaged in melee in which case it gains the It Will Not Die special rule instead.

losing D3 wounds isn't awful. you could roll a 1 plus you get invulnerable saves against it potentially making him lose no wounds.

I agree it's not a rule that needs fixing. I'm just trying to capture more of the Dawn of War vibe they were going for. In that game the BT constantly lost HP when not in combat and gained HP while in combat.

That mechanism is already kind of there. Not for that BT indivudally I guess but overall...the more combat you get into.... the more bloodtithe points you get. Including any combat the BT gets into.

With the artifact sword we can potentially get 4 blood points in one turn from simply killing a single unit in melee. 1 from the formation, 2 from the melee and one from the sword. Depending on the board and how lucky you get...its not impossible to have him die one turn and come right back the next. You could just pretend that its the same guy lol
