For my
TM i always take the power sword and never feel bad for it. 5
Ws 6
Str 4
AP 3 attacks at initiative ''Higher-than-you'' will mince any would be
MEQ champion or slice up 2/3 Marines. The reliability is important, because I've had a turn were entire troupes of Caresses haven't rolled a single 6 to hit, and knowing you can rely on the
TM for damage output is nice to know. Just make sure to kit out the troupe to go after reasonable targets, E.G not Terminators or Dreadknights.
The other option i'd like to try out is Cegorarch's Rose, because it is almost assuredly a dead champion. As i said, reliability, and the Rose is a dead model almost every time (3+ to hit mastercrafted, 2+ to wound shred) So if your not willing to fork out for the
PS or don't want the Troupe Leader to dictate what units you fight, take the Rose.
Pretty much all of this. You can only take a single relic per model so that's why I'd go Starmist on the
WL, especially if you're running Ceg's Revenge (which, again, I wouldn't. Just saying "if"). Rose is a solid performer as well, but falls short against the Power Sword. 2.1
PS kills vs. 1.3 Rose kills vs
MEQ. So Rose increases output vs. a standard kiss by .3 or so unsaved wounds. Again though, it's all about targets. If you need a
MEQ lawnmower, then
PS is clearly the right answer. If you want a
TM that can stand up to challenges from non-dedicated
CC champions sporting a 2+, Kiss/rose.
Given the differences in
dmg output between really expensive weapons and generic Harlie weapons though, Starmist Rainment still probably needs to be your first
TM wargear choice. 2
PS wounds vs. ~1.3 wounds for kiss/caress isn't going to be nearly as noticeable as making a 3++ against powerfists. If you ever make one 3++ save against a S6 attack, Starmist more than pays for itself (litterally,
TM is 35 points). Alternately, weapons need to do quite a bit of work to justify their cost vs a normal Harlie weapon.
