Yeah we tend to get left to the end I wasn't expecting it until the new year at any rate.
I now see the shipper is Cinram GmbH. Anyway it will be a surprise whatever turns up - like Christmas all over again

I was thinking of grabbing some of the kickstarter exclusive survivors for gaks and giggles (and because I want the Big Bang Theory survivors, John Mclane and the Liam Neeson one) and was terrified by the prices I was seeing. $40us and $40us shipping? Huh? Then another look past the first page of results on ebay showed some saner $25us and $15us shipping options. That's much better. Still pricey when you look at more than a couple at a time, but I can slowly order these every few weeks.

I got my copy in and was a little disappointed to have an English rule book. Sorta hoped for the novelty of a French one, but I like collecting game products in non-English variants.
Game contents look amazing, and I was really impressed with the details of the figures. The plastic also has a more durable feel than some of the Zombicide 1 and 2 models that I have.

I received my copy and got a few games in already. As a zombicide fan (backer of all the kickstarters, own everything that is zombicide), black plague is a really great game. It trumps all other zombicide games for several reasons:
1-quality (sculpts seem better)
2-plastic dashboards (freaking brilliant for ease of play)
3-more challenging
4- more wounds and no zombivors (again more challenging)
5-armor saves
Besides being the best so far imho, the game has the same cinematic feel of the first game. When an abomination comes out, it is downright scary. It is easier to get swamped by masses of zombies as there isn't a mass of machine guns everywhere. And those pesky necromancers... they bring more strategy to the game as they can ruin your day in a hurry.
I really can't wait for wave 2 on this one! This game is ace and has replaced the original series on my game nights! (they are still great too)

Think the notification email came a couple of days before mine in the post (UK buyer)
Does anyone know when the additional bits and pieces (character packs etc.) will go on sale in shops? Was quite stingy with my pledge and only got the one character pack, but now I'm getting into the game quite fancy getting some more bits and pieces! :

I like how easily the models seem to paint up. Did a few zombies yesterday going for the block paint and dip method. The details seen deep enjoy to work qll with that method. Won't do survivors like that though .

Holy feth that was a mess of a sentence. I need to stop typing using my phone on the train.
What I meant to say was.
The details seem to be deep enough to work well with the dipping method.
Instead of that monstrosity of a sentence.

They do definitely, gave mine a light grey undercoat then heavy wash of strong tone. After that a simple job of just using block colour and you can get an OK result (essence here is speed as there are a lot of the things to paint!)
Thought it may have been too much of the Christmas tipple there Carlos !

Yeah why not. The bases will get painted a block colour at some point but I will do a large batch at once. That or buy clear bases. Havent decided.

i Keep thinking of clear bases, but then the new matching rings and pegs on dashboards wouldn't work. Plus some feet on the contemporary zombicide are part of the base and would look odd half supporting the figures on clear bases.

Look good Carlos!
I've just gone for a neutral grey colour for mine, did think of going for full on resin bases with all of the trimmings but with the amount of zombies I have to paint, and for the kind of game, didn't think it was really worth it.

Just paint colored dots on the bases to match the peg colors... If the survivor figs are painted, there is less need for the colored rings. Paint job colors could even tie into the peg colors.

That won't work as well once all the KS survivors come out. There's at least 20 iirc

Played this today,....
I have never played Z'cide so I can't give you a comparison of any kind.
However; I did enjoy this quite a bit,... the plastic does seem a bit better than the Z'cide stuff (which I have seen and handled), but the real star of the show are those palyer trays!!!!
Every game should have these. Soooooooo much better than a card stock or chip board playerboard. It is card sleeve ready, and that stand for your backpack items is genius!!!!
Well done to the folks who designed this beauty, and decided that it belonged in the base game. Just made the game so much easier to play,...... I could buy this game just because of the tray!
The game itself was pretty tense, but we managed to survive what I think was the third mission (map was made of 6 tiles). I'm not sure if it is the same with the Z'cide games,.... but it sure did feel like a constant race to find the stuff for the big bang; which is OK,... but I hope that there is a bit more variety to the game (I guess through expansions and such).

I'll be placing an order with Darksphere soon, so any suggestions from what they stock would be helpful.
Thanks.

The inside of the pizza box (the bit with the models in) shows where each model goes.

Question for you guys. What do you do when no one has a damage 2 weapon and you spawn fatties?
Can you destroy spawn points or do they just keep spawning endlessly?
And lastly, I'm pretty sure it said divide up the starting gear however you see fit but is that right? Can I give the hammer to whoever you want?

You'll have to either keep searching for a 2 damage weapon or use dragon bile to kill them.
The only way to remove a spawn point is to kill a Necromancer.
You can give any starting gear to whomever you wish, including the hammer.

thanks alex. I knew that I saw that you could remove spawn points somewhere but for the life of me couldn't find it again.
I only played the intro mission so didn't really delve into the necromancers rules yet.
a 2 damage weapon is a must then. I was only playing with 3 actors and matched what they were carrying on the fig so no hammer for me. I just changed fatties into walkers =P
gotta take baby steps right... lol
