Mmmk?

That's a decent looking DE list, but if you're trying to make evidence towards decurions being "not so hot," I'm failing to see anything that convinces me, especially in light of the lack of information such as: the cron list built, mission type, important rolls that went his way or your way, table setup, the general skill level of the players, along with any major mistakes made.

But, y'know...grats or whatever.

A battle report or something else to present information with would be better than simply saying 'I tabled them with this list' as there is simply no evidence to back up what you're saying.

Gratz all the same, but it's dubious without evidence

Are you looking for "evidence," or just details? 'Cause to get evidence, we'd need him to record the game on video and maybe get a signed legal document from his opponent saying that the game was, in fact, played and that he had, in fact, been beaten. And even then, someone might argue that the video was a hoax.

Some more details would be nice though. I'm guessing you used the haywire launchers on the scourges to bypass quantum shielding and neuter his scariest vehicles, then drowned his non-vehicles in poison while kiting with the venoms? How did you deal with flyers? Or were there any?

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

Yeah something like that. Just something to help illustrate points better as opposed to 'I took this and won'

The most important question probably is what was his list?

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. We'd have to know wha his list was, otherwise all I see is a spammy DE list. Not saying it's a bad list, but it's borderline cheese, and if the cron player was playing Footsog, even they can't survive that much twin-linked poison and Large blast bombs. Not to mention he's probably not using the handful of things that would tear that list a new one. So, either way, doesn't really justify the whole "Decurion isn't that bad".

I seriously doubt any list could table competent decurion in 3 turns, especially not a shooty army.

It takes 40 kabalite warriors, with 4 splinter cannons and splinter racks, firing at half range and without moving, to take down 10 necron warriors.

A venom with 2 cannons will only kill 1 warrior a turn.

I'm just not seeing how it would be possible, unless the cron army just spammed wraiths and got eaten up by the poison.

It's interesting you feel that way, because it happened yesterday at my flgs against one if the better players.

If you say so. It it may well have done, this is a dice game after all.

However, on average mathammer says otherwise.

If a decurion can get shot off the board turn 3, then whatever list that is doing it must win all the tournaments.

Almost every other army in the game compares poorly to the decurion in terms of durablity.

I would put the game at your FLGS down to terrible luck, an unlucky draw with an opponent with lots of counters, or bad list making. Possibly all three.

Decurion can be beat, I just find it hard to believe that an army with basic infantry who are nearly as tough as terminators could be tabled by turn 3.

And until you post something more concrete then just saying "I tabled Decurion Necrons in 3 turns" no one is going to believe you.

It's interesting how you've completely ignored about 9 posts asking for more information too. Kinda telling, that.

I would be interested in a rough outline of what was taken by the Necron player, and a grossly simplified battle report.

IE: 3 big units of Warriors, 1 small squad of Immortals, necessary minimum Tomb Blades, and a Lord with useless upgrades, that sat in his deployment zone while I zoomed around, focussing on one unit at a time until it was destroyed before moving on. I took advantage of cover to limit his return fire. Also, he forgot about Reanimation Protocols, so that helped too. Oh, and he was only playing 1000 points.

You know, something like that to give context to what happened. I'm happy that it worked, just wondering what it worked against, and how.
