Fighter squadron looks terrific, very cool.
Any news on how one gets to select/play as things like Vadar/Mil Falcon etc?
Is it random, merit based, squad leader based, DLC (shudder) or?

Cheesecat - The blocking in the movies and even the Clone war series (animated) looked organic, not robotic. Even with guys like Grievious and the other dark jedi. It doesn't look like robot. The animation looks really clunky.

From what was mentioned for Fighter Squadron, there is a "pick-up" that will spawn during the course of the game that you have to fly really low to the ground and collect--which prompts you to perform a mission before you can then utilize them.
I believe it's meant to be a continuation of the idea of "Battle Pick-Ups" that DICE did for BF4--which worked fairly well(even if the Barrett .50 got removed from the Recon class to do so. )

The multiplayer modes of Star Wars™ Battlefront™ span many different types of experiences. From close-quarter battle situations, to all-out clashes on huge maps with ground troops, vehicles, Heroes and Villains joining the fight, you’ll find the Supremacy mode in the latter category.
Supremacy centers on five control points scattered across the map. The objective is gaining control of all five, or the majority of them, before the 10 minute round is over. Each team starts the match controlling two of these control points, initially fighting for control of the fifth one in the center. After this is determined, the control points need to be claimed in a set order. This means the action will be taking place on two control points at a time – one for each team.
An intense mode for players that know their way around the battlefront, Supremacy is ideal for those craving all-out multiplayer action. According to Lead Level Designer Dennis Brännvall, this action will be both immediate and intense.
“When you spawn into Supremacy, you don’t have to move far to see a lot of friends – and enemies. You’re thrown into a massive frontline, where your screen is filled with adversaries: infantry, Heroes, Walkers, and starfighters. You can prepare for very heavy and focused Star Wars™ action,” Brännvall says.
If you’re the defending type, Supremacy will guarantee many enemies assaulting your control point. If you’re an attacking player, you'll surely find them trying to defend their control point from capture, ensuring constant frontline action.
Almost all vehicles in Star Wars Battlefront will take part in the fight, so keep an eye on the sky for TIE fighters and X-wings soaring through the sky to assist the quest for supremacy at each location. Heroes and Villains will also join the fight, and their unique abilities will help both sides in different ways.
“Using a character like Darth Vader to secure control points is great, as he can take increased damage before going down. Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett are great for moving swiftly between attacking and defensive positions, and giving you the edge against opponents in battle,” Brännvall explains.
As for map size, Supremacy will offer the largest fighting grounds that Star Wars Battlefront has to offer; the vast maps, alongside the ability to capture key areas, may seem similar to DICE game fans. Brännvall, as member of the Battlefield team, can confirm the similarities between Supremacy and the signature mode from the game, Conquest.
“Supremacy is a game mode that will excite fans of the Conquest mode from Battlefield. That said, we’ve made several tweaks to improve the formula. You will always spawn close to the action when you enter Supremacy, so you’ll never feel isolated from the fight. By focusing on one key point at a time, players not playing the objective and camping on a hill somewhere will be a rare sight.”
With the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire clashing, the vehicular action around you, and iconic Star Wars characters joining the fight, Supremacy is a multiplayer mode that will deliver exhilarating battles for players. Brännvall tells about his personal favorite:
“I really like Supremacy on Endor. With all the battles on ground and among the trees, the fights are always intense and fun. An Ewok village is the central point, and there are many different ways of getting into those huts. That kind of verticality is really interesting,” Brännvall says.
This is one of many favorite aspects our developers have from the epic Supremacy mode. Which one will be yours?

I'm talking about the Original Trilogy (the only Star Wars thing that matters other than a some Star Wars themed video games) not this prequel/extended universe gak.

Hmmm, Im not sure about this at all. I have played a lot of the Battlefield series over the years and one of the most exciting and darn right fun things are those isolated one VS one or two VS two fights that can happen in the more remote parts of the map.
The huge sniper hill in Kharg island, point A in Caspian, the jungle road in Panama Canal, the islands in Parasel Storm. The list goes on.
Being thrown into a Op Metro style meat grinder from spawn over and over dosent sound very appealing to me and frankly tacticless.
Sometimes not playing the objective was can be the key to winning, intercepting enemy transports, setting up mines and c4f on roads and inlet routes, picking off enemies from good sniping positions, focusing down incoming armor attacks.
If everyone just has to bum rush one Obj, wheres the nuance?

Each team has two objectives to start with, then has to gain control of the remaining objectives to ensure a victory.
I don't think you're looking at an Operation Metro meat grinder but rather something more like the "Chainlink" game mode that BF4 had.

Thats an imporvement. Im still wary however of the "dropped immediately" into the action angle and them stating that those more isolated fights arent going to really happen.
A good old pewpew can be fun but over and over? Im worried about lastability unless they really make some amazing maps.

I have to admit I did enjoy BF2 where I could hide out in a tower for the majority of the game. I remember one round in Naboo where I was the sole survivor of my army and snuck around the battlefield sniping 30 or so droids until I won the battle. It was awesome!
Also I stumbled across a pretty good interview with Peter Moore about Battlefront. This bit is especially interesting considering I will really miss the single player campaign.
Surely yourself, and the rest of the EA executive team, must be kicking yourselves for not including a single-player campaign?
Well, you never kick yourself about these things. You make a decision, years out, and you plan for what the world looks like when a game ships in two or three years. That's about the intuitiveness about the executive producer, and his or her vision for the game.
Between when a dev team starts work on a game, and when it finishes, the world becomes a different place. I remember when we started work on Star Wars: The Old Republic; at the time, the model to go for was subscription. By the time we had the game ready, the model to go for wasn't subscriptions. That's why we had to stop the game, and rebuilt it as a free-to-play title with microtransactions, but even then there were some people who said they wanted to keep their subscriptions.
I totally understand that you have to think ahead when planning games. I was more thinking about Battlefront with more crude algebra, in that, triple-A games with single-player traditionally sell better than those with multiplayer.
So, there's two phenomena with that statement. The first is that yes, you might be right. The second is that very few people actually play the single-player on these kinds of games. That's what the data points to.

Well, remember that it isn't just players on these maps. There are bots.
A better comparison would be "Titanfall" and how you had AI controlled "Grunts" and "Spectre" combat droids.

I play it on occasion, and I have been having a ton of fun with it. My only complaint is offline mode is a joke, and I only really would want to play those game modes with a friend anyway. Oh well, it is a multiplayer game, and as such is focused on the multiplayer aspect, rather than the side features.
Anyway, I've mostly been playing Air Dominance, Blast, and Hero Battles. My Internet does agree with the bigger gamemodes, so that's also why the offline part is a bigger issue for me. (I know, that's a me problem, and I'm used to it by now). I really like Hero Battles. Anyone else scared gakless when Palpatine does that leap ability from behind cover at you? A+ work on that, easily.
