Hey guys, I have a pretty large Crimson Fists force and was wondering what their standing is with some other chapters and Imperial organizations. I have a fair sized Guard force, though I figure Guard go with anyone really. I've gotten one box of Skitarii so far with possible plans for more. How do the CF and Adeptus Mechanicus get on? Would one actively help and support the other?

Now, what about other Space Marine chapters? Obviously all the Imperial Fists' descendants would band together in times of need. What about the CF and Space Wolves though? Or the Fists and Dark Angels? I have smaller contingents of each of these two and am thinking of just combining everything into one large combined force for display. Thoughts?

I don't know of any previous alliance between the Fists and space wolves, however when Dorn almost started a second civil war between the legions Leman Russ was going to side with the Fists so I imagine they have some degree of respect for one and other, but for the most part the Imperial fists are respected by virtually every branch of the Imperium so it wouldn't be hard to justify them working with any imperial force.

A crusading force could be made up of elements of a range of chapters. Its an easy go-to solution

You could bring them all together by giving them all consistent campaign markings, or just leave tham as-is.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

This is directly from the Lexicanum site.

"The Crimson Fists have always had close ties with the Imperium and the Inquisition. They have contributed many warriors to the kill-teams of the Ordo Xenos, being renowned Ork fighters. They have also, at the order of Terra and the Inquisition, destroyed two chapters of brother Space Marines; the insane Sons of Gideon and the mind-wiped Marines Vigilant. This has earned them a reputation as lap dogs of the Inquisition among certain chapters."

Which space marine chapters might raise an eyebrow at Crimson Fists, it doesn't say. Maybe some of the more independent minded ones like Space Wolves or Salamanders.

The end of the Rynn's World novel had a bunch of chapters coming to their aid after they (oppsie!) blew up their own Fortress-Monastary. But I can't remember who was among the chapters in the relief fleet.

For some reason I believe it was the wolves and several other chapters.

To back this up an extract from Pedro Kantor: The Vengeful Fist by Steve Parker

By way of answer, and not for the first time, Kantor’s mind landed unbidden on memories of the Marines Vigilant and of the terrible destruction the Crimson Fists had brought down upon them.

No mention of the Sons of Gideon though. Upon further digging it appears that the source is the 1999 Gamesday Pamphlet and says

[SERVICE TO THE HIGH LORDS OF TERRA]
Like other Imperial Fists descendants, the Crimson Fists have always been noted for their zealous devotion to the Emperor, even more so than other Space Marine Chapters. On at least two occasions this has led to the Crimson Fists being called upon by the High Lords of Terra to exterminate a fellow Space Marine Chapter. The first of these was the Sons of Gideon, who were deemed Excommunicate after a routine Inquisitorial inspection had found the Chapter's geneseed had been corrupted to such a degree that chemical imbalances in the Space Marines' brains had driven them insane. The Crimson Fists destroyed their homeworld of Gideon IV and they proceeded to hunt down the remnants of the Third Company which had escaped the attack and was butchering it's way through the four billion inhabitants of the Colar star system The second Chapter to have suffered the wrath of the Crimson Fists were the Marines Vigilant. The Chapter had fallen under the mind-control of a rare warp entity which had eradicated all martial instinct of the Space Marines, rendering them useless as a military force. The unfortunate Marines Vigilant put up no resistance at all as the Crimson Fists used orbital mass drivers to turn the renegade Chapter's verdant home planet into lifeless desert. The Crimson Fists' willingness to turn on their brother marines has earnt them something of a reputation as the Adeptus Terra's lapdogs amongst the more unorthodox Space Marine Chapters, such as the Space Wolves, White Scars and Exorcists.

It's possible that they did something to annoy the someone as it's rumoured that their Fortress Monastery was destroyed by assassins

Codex assassins 2nd ed

There are even rumours which implicate the Officio Assassinorum in the downfall of certain Space Marine Chapters - the mysterious loss of the Fire Hawks' fleet in the warp, the unexplained destruction of the Crimson Fists' Chapter fortress on Rynn's World, the disastrous ambush of the Angels of Retribution at Alantor X and several other less well-known incidents have all been laid at the assassins' door.

No pity, no remorse, no shoes

Dark Angels were definitely there, including the entire Ravenwing according to the timeline in the current DA Codex.

The write-up in the original Imperial Armour 2 (NOT *volume* 2) had the Imperial Fists and White Scars spearheading Imperial counter invasion, with the White Panthers, Storm Lords, Angels Encarmine, Blood Drinkers and Minotaurs being rotated in during subsequent years. However this version differs from other depictions (New Rynn City fell and 20 years later the world is still a War World with no end in sight), so whether the later chapters remain the same in other iterations I don't know - though IIRC the White Scars and Imperial Fists were also there in the scenarios book for Epic 40,000.
