Couldn't help but notice the similarities between all the ridiculousness that's been going on and the five stages of grief:
Denial - Maybe the rumors aren't true? They can't possibly be that cheap...
Anger - OMG, GW IS RUINING MY GAME 160 STR6 SHOTS AT 36" AND WRAITHKNIGHTS WITH RANGED D WHO ARE PRACTICALLY IMMORTAL?!?1? THAT WILL COMPLETELY DECIMATE EVERY OTHER ARMY BEFORE THEY EVEN ROLL DICE, WTF!!!
Bargaining - Maybe if we all ban together GW will HAVE to listen to us, right? C'mon guys, let's all write letters and call them and force change!
Depression - Welp, that's it folks, the game is officially ruined. Might as well just be Eldar 40k going forward. No need to ever roll dice or play 40k again because the game is complete crap due to the chance I might have to play Eldar at some point.
Acceptence - ???
C'mon guys, you've all shot through the first four stages over the last weekend, one more step and it's all over and maybe we can start talking about stuff that really matters again instead of this ridiculous primal scream that's been going on.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.
Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Destructor, Volguus Zildrohar, Gozer the Traveler, and Lord of the Sebouillia
Have an exalt, that's how I feel with my Eldar, with two Starcannons, one Wave Serpent thats been there since third edition, and no Wraithknight(s).
"By this point I'm convinced 100% that every single race in the 40k universe have somehow tapped into the ork ability to just have their tech work because they think it should."
Given the turnaround time on a Codex at GW now, I'm presuming that as soon as they sell enough Jetbikes and Wraithknights, there will be a new Codex that makes both of them useless.
Can't wait for that first edition of white dwarf next month. Where they have just released the new eldar codex with only the bike and wave serpent changes, then inform us the rest was just a s bad April Fools prank....
I quickly reached acceptance. I picked up a wraithknight last night, already have it built with D cannons and base coated. My codex, jetbikes (30) and jetseer will be here Friday.

Both so-so units are better than many in the Ork codex, so you're good. Your list won't be top teir (even without Necron), but it's still playable and will win a good many games.

Or we get 2 years of people pretending that its all fine - no problem, all good
We are currentlyreaching the end of
"it might not be true, its likely not ture, just a rumour, la la la I can't see the pic - there are no leaks, I don't want to see the pics and approaching fast:
"Wait you have not played it" especially whilst I keep wining games with ease
then
"Well we just need time to adjust" especially whilst I keep wining games with ease
to
"have to wait for the FAQs" especially whilst I keep wining games with ease
then after a couple of years of this............
- "oh its nearly time for a new codex so we shouldn't change it" - especially whilst I keep wining games
That's what happened with Serpents - as the Cylons say - "its happened before and it will happen before"

Isn't that enough?
Isn't it enough to just want to play the new Codex without being ostracized for your choice of faction?
Where do you draw the line, and more importantly why?
I feel the pain. GW makes a mistake, the people who suffer most are the people who play the OP codex. The decurion looks so cool... Sorry for bringing Necrons into this.
Edit for second sentence.

5000pts Necrons
5000pts Salamanders

Bunch of old Heroscape stuff

Would you play chess with 5 queens? Would you ostracize someone who only wanted to play chess with 5 queens? What if their chess set was a very nice one, with great sculpts, and 5 queens?
I would draw the line at the 2nd queen.
in 40k, I would draw the line at 67%. Meaning two identical computers playing each other, one with Eldar, one with the weakest army, would only yeild 67% of victories to Eldar.
ETA: forgot to add "why". Winning is more fun than losing. The person with the 33% army wants to win a portion of his/her games. That same person doesn't want to lose all the time.
Further Edited to ask a question: A game with Eldar at 6th (except the nerfs, which would be at 7th) vs Orks would be a great tactical battle, with the outcome completely in doubt. Wouldn't that be fun? Would it be less fun than a game that Eldar has a 99% chance of winning?

So you've done this simulation then, since that's apparently what you're basing your decision on?
Or, is it your opinion that the codex is overpowered for certain reasons you've read about online, and you're making a subjective choice to refuse to play Eldar players based on that opinion?
You can do what you want. It doesn't mean you have a good reason to. I could refuse to play your Orks because I think green is a dumb colour. Would you think I was being unreasonable?

According to the leaks they are still complete crap.
Really? no overwatch is nice, they don't suffer from charging through cover - the Dark Eldar now exist to provide them with Raiders..............

The second. I have no data yet. It is an interesting idea, and I will look into what can be done on a limited basis. Programming a computer to fully play a 40k is beyond me, but perhaps a tactically simplified benchmark could be built which we could use to measure the power level of codexes.
In the meantime, I would gladly try a game with Eldar and see how it goes. The results would be quite anecdotal and not very accurate, because the Eldar player is probably a better player than I am, and would most likely win against me, even with an "even" list.
However, one sees the point (at least I hope). If a codex is truly stronger than others, I would like to see the community coming to a consensus and level the playing field, which would produce more fun games for all, except for the players that only want to play with 5 queens. They would lose out.
Since I think we all can give up hope that GW will provide a satisfactory solution, A community-sponsored leveling program would be a positive endeavor, and a way to maximize the fun for the majority of players.
Also, if you refused to play against green Orks, I would counsel you regarding the wisdom of your decision, and if that fails I would seek another opponent.

It was just a foolish example to prove a point - Green is literally, EMPIRICALLY, the best colour, period. No arguments there.

Although everyone has the right to the wrong opinion you should know the best colour is blue
