Subject: Your input on Ork warboss to Challenge a HH Primarch?
|
 |

My friend and I are going to be playing an APOC Game next week, I wanted to use my Orks against his Emperors Children 30k HH Army.
He's letting me upgrade an Ork Warboss and I want to know if Dakka thinks this is a good Points cost
SUPA WARBOSS (Lord of War)
WS6 BS2 S5 T6 W5 I5 A5 Ld9 Sv4+
Twin-linked Shoota, Choppa of da Ragnorok, Stikkbombs, 'eavy Armor, Attack Squig
Special Rules: Eternal Warrior; Deadly Combatant (4++ in CC); 'Ere We Go!; Furious Charge; Fearless; Mod Rule!, Waaagh!; Independent Character
325 points
what do you guys think?
Orks don't have Primarch level characters and would like something to be a good challenge.
Choppa of the Ragnorok is going to be upgraded to start at S+5 AP1 Melee, Two-handed, Master-crafted

you could just take Angron and run his stats on an Ork warboss

Just take all the wargear you want from Orks. I think one of them gives eternal warrior. Lucky Stick is great. And have Cybork give the 5++ instead of feel no pain. Why? Because Orks need at least 1 Invul save.
Points cost will be in the codex so it'll be an easy one to do.

Honestly, this seems like the best bet to me. Angron basically is an ork warboss to begin with.B

+1 for "Take Ghazghull, allow him to purchase unlimited Ork relic gear"
As much as I love custom rules its still better and easier to run with something like this.
Also, I'm not 100% sure if its legit by the rules, but could you put Ghazghull in a Green Tide for multiple WAAAGH and get a permanent 2++ save?

Nope, sadly. His 2+ only happens if HE calls the Waagh since he has a special Waagh. :(

Hes not a warboss, hes Ghaz and the 2++ is pretty OP.
don't forget guys, this is a fun APOC game.
If I use Angron's rules then its not really an Ork. I wanted to make a powerful LOW warboss that wasn't too OP. I don't think there has ever been a fluffy Ork as powerful as a Primarch.

I'm pretty sure the Ork who trashed empy and Horus, is Gazzy thrown back in time as per the new Ork fluff, he just keeps time travellin!

I haven't seen that fluff about time travel. I've got the Ork Codex and the Ghazzy supplement. He's been in the immaterium where time passes differently but when appearing back in real space not much time appears to have passed and he successfully led an Ork Waaaaagh to clean out an entire planet of Nids and is happily looking in the sky as the next tendril approaches (the nids being drawn to his psykic beacon just as the Orks are) so he appears to still be in the present as far as 40k timeline goes. Orkimedes can still only tellyport Orks short distances (planetary orbit to the surface) but is almost done perfecting the tellyporta so that Ghazzy can cross the galaxy in an instant so he can keep commanding his officers all over the galaxy. Gork and Mork appear to have given Ghazzy the ability to telepathically communicate across the galaxy in real time along with clairvoyance at the same distance and also at real time. All of this is fantastic in the extreme but I've not come across time travel yet.

There's a mention of an ork warboss who travelled back in time, found himself there and killed to get two of his favorite shootas. It's in the dex since...4-th i guess. Maybe even earlier. Still present in the current dex.

Maybe Ghazzy is that ork, but he's just not on that level yet. Orks keep getting bigger the more and better they fight. SO as long as he keeps fighting and not dying then he'd be huge.
