First try at a new list for the new codex, didn't want to make it too nasty so no guns on the bikes and WK will have the sword so my only ranged D is template range and not full strength D.

This is only a slight alteration of my previous codex list (less walkers and spiders, more bikes and knight) which did me very well so I know this should work, but any comments?

Farseer (bike, spear) - 120

3*3 man Windriders- 51

2*Scytheguard - 210
2*Serpents (canon, scatter) - 125

2*6 warp spiders (Exarch) - 124

Wraithknight - 295

2* 3 War wakers (scatter) - 180

Total: 1846

You have 10 template D weapons and a Wraithknight, this list is extremely nasty!

Nasty, but not TOO nasty!

I could take the cannon knight and put scatters on all the bikes and the whole shebang

Where does the Farseer go? I'd take a bigger Jet bike unit to put him in. Obviously I realise you're not trying to optimise this so there's not much point in offering other advice. You're going to struggle in a very competitive environment but should do well in casual play.

He hides out of LoS and psychs, more of an HQ tax for taking a cad than anything else but he is fun to play depending on what he rolls

Well if you don't think its too cheezy you may have a reality problem, I would outright refuse to play that list. Good luck getting games in the future though. Seriously.

But there are some things that just aren't fun to play against. I.e. Wraithknights backed up by syctheguard/bike spam. It's just "I can't win vs this list", but also "Man, that doesn't look like fun to play against, unless I BUILD to take that list down."

edit: Not saying that's what this is, but I know I'd hate to fight a list that somehow managed to fit 3 WKs in a list. I'm not sure how I'd deal with that in an all comers list. Maybe with a hammer or a table flip. Or walking away in disgust to find a better game.

Exalted. I'm getting really fed up of seeing 'I'd just refuse to play you'. Grow up. Or take your childish attitude elsewhere and stop commenting on my post.

Considering the level of power an Eldar can field, I think this list is quite reasonable The lone seer is an issue though

Swings both ways mate. Id also refuse to play vs eldar if my oppenent tried to field a similar list. Its a shame the book was released because every* non eldar player now feels completely winded and diss heartened.

Yes we play with Toy Soldiers, for fun with various different outlooks. It is the attitude that your outlook is the only one that is correct and others are in need of abuse that is arrogant and pathetic.

This list is massively far from Optimised with a single Wraithknight the only real "problem" unit as his bikes don't have upgrades and D-Scythes are very short ranged and 1 use. Yes at a casual level this is still strong but at least it engages in the game unlike say FBSC Tau, Gravstar or the various gunlines or even Serpent Spam from the previous codex.

Why call me and other players who feel the same way ( and differently to you) arrogant and pathetic? Its unnecessary . 40k is a very bespoke game so it is difficult to compare this to a similar situation but if you enjoy winning games on easy mode then crack on. No need to get hostile on your keyboard.

You're not arrogant and pathetic for thinking the codex is over powered or for feeling that you would want to avoid playing it. Your opinion and your goal in playing the game is up to you. However telling someone that they are a bad person for fielding Eldar or for wanting to build an efficient list, is both arrogant and pathetic. Trying to make someone feel bad about their hobby is what we are against. If you want to play casual or want to play with weak lists or want to play with background focused armies, that's great. Don't attack others for doing something different.

As for what causes this list problems. Just off the top of my head my Nids wouldn't mind facing this, Gravstar, lictorshame, ThunderKnight star, Gravs delivered by pod, Angel Fury BAs, double FBSC Tau. Lots would cause this list problems. The list is decent but not optimised as he's not trued to optimise it.

Ive not said anything about the person. Ive only talked about the Codex...ive poked fun at my friends for sure but thats all in jest.

I guess people have different standards as their meta will allow and dissalow different things but as a whole this book is silly and that is my point. Nothing personal to any player who has an Eldar army. I shall leave you boys in peace to discuss your eldar trickery.

I don't know how to take this new codex... I actually have 15 wraithguard plus 4 wraithlords plus a wraithknight plus 9 (yes 9) guardian vauls d-canon.. I also have 30 jet bike models..

But i've never fielded them all... not all in one go.. I've been slowing building an apoc army

And now I think I should give it a go at 1850pt level but it will look horrendous.. and it probably shouldn't make me feel like I do.. bit I would like to give them a run out.. but I feel I can't lol

If I get turn one you get tabled. Unless you have a trick to actually get into range I haven't faced. Not enough wounds on the board. The multiple smaller expensive squads is good though if you deploy well. Your list would be fun and fun for my to play against would love to. It would be a landslide in one direction or the other based off the first turn I think
