Rules say that new Monofilament weapons wound against Initiative. How exactly? 4+ against I4, 3+ against I3 and so on? What about I1and I7+?

Use the regular "to wound" chart, except instead of the target's toughness, use the target's initiative.

Ehm... So, I have to compare Strength with Initiative?

Yep. So a Warp Spider shooting a Space Marine would be Strength 6 vs Initiative 4, so 2+ to Wound. A Warp Spider Shooting a Wraithknight would be Strength 6 vs Initiative 5, so 3+ to Wound. And A Warp Spider shooting an Avatar would be Strength 6 vs Initiative 10, so would be unable to wound.

Its good but its also somewhat situational as they are great against some things and utterly useless against others.

Perfect counter for ´Crons I´d say... should be able to generate a lot of wounds to save...

For the wraiths and tomb spiders and stuff yes, the warriors were already being wounded on a 2+ and spiders suffer their own short range against Necrons. They really shine against things like Riptides or 'Nid MCs

Why are you using the wound chart? Does it say to? Why is it not resolved as described in the OP like you would with a grav weapon and armor save?

Grav specifically says the roll to wound is equal to the armor save.
Monofilament doesn't say this.

Monofilament says to roll to wound using the initiative instead of the toughness. So you just read through the "Roll To Wound" section on p34 and do everything it says, but substitute the word "Toughness" for "Initiative".

So wait...a s6 monofilament weapon inflicts instant death on anything I3 or below? Wow...and all of a sudden all the tau players stopped bringing riptides...and say goodbye to anything necron except maybe the ctan? Cant remember if theyre i4 or not
Aslo as a side note: what S is the typical monofilament weapons on the warp spiders?

No the rule says you still look to toughness to determine ID. Warp spiders guns are S6, the artillery one is S6, and the nightspinner's is base S7 that can go up if in a squadron.

No, you only substitute T for I in the very specific case of determining to-wound rolls. Instant Death would still trigger normally (using T). They're still S6, so they can threaten to ID lots of HQ models.

When wounding using Init in place of Toughness should majority still be used?
ex) Shoota boys with Warboss attached get shot up by warp spiders. Are we using the I2 of the boys (majority) or the Warboss' I4 (highest as with Init tests)?

Majority.

There is NO SUCH THING as MORE ADVANCED in 40k!!! There are ONLY 2 LEVELS of RULES: Basic and Advanced. THE END. Stop saying "More Advanced". That is not a recognized thing in modern 40k!!!!

A better example would be space marines I4 with a captain I5 because in your example the S6 guns wound either on 2's, but I agree with BetraytheWorld that it should be majority.

You replace toughness with Init. So majority toughness rule becomes majority init

I take this back - played ~4 necron games with warp spiders and 'crons can't handle them at all - their jump away is too much for 24'' shooting to handle and the wounding on I is the icing on the cake!

My last game with crons I had a unit of 10 Spiders take out a Tranny C'tan in one go, lost 8 in the resulting explosion, but still well worth it. Espcially you take them in an aspect host for BS5!
