Hello all. I love the look of this new model and wanted to paint one up. From start to finish, this took about 2.5 hours. Using purple over black lets you get a really nice finalized result without having to be particularly careful. I'm including shots from before I did the wet transfer and matt spray and after. In person, the purple is a little brighter. The matt spray makes it look a little dull on camera.

This is what my entire force will look like. I have 15 Rangers, 5 Vanguard, 5 each of the two Elite types and a Sydonian Dragoon yet to paint up.

I... actually don't know. Help?

Oh, I like the purple scheme! Any chance you might tell me how you did it?

It's super easy.

1. Prime Black
2. Basecoat all the purple bits with Naggaroth Night
3. Layer Xereus Purple on top, but leave a 1-2mm gap in the shadowed bits so you get a nice depth and shading.

I watered down the Xereus Purple until it had the consistency of melted butter and then had to put down about 4-5 layers to get a smooth coat. It's a little extra work, but makes all the difference in the world. When I was done, I sprayed the whole thing with Army Painter's Anti Shine Matt Varnish. It makes a big difference. You'll have to see the effect in person, but it sort of softens everything up a little AND protects the wet transfers.

The rest of the model is pretty straightforward. If you check my blog, http://KrisWallMinis.com, on Monday, you'll see some more pictures and a full paint scheme list.
