I played my first game with my full 1500pt Tau army last week (my third game overall).

Was playing a guy with Space Wolves, can't remember the name of the mission we played, it's the one where you start with 6 objective cards then get 1 fewer each turn.

I started off ok, managed to score lots early on getting objectives with a stealth team, deep struck crisis suits and a squad of firewarriors in a devilfish, he took advantage though and started chewing me up in close combat with his wolf cavalry. After 5 turns he was one point up (8-9) because he got linebreaker, first blood and slay the warlord and the game finished. I might have been able to table him if I had an extra turn, his Stormwolf flyer was causing me problems though.

He killed my Riptide, I forgot about 'feel no pain' rolls :(

Played a 3k 2v2 game, me and a buddy as DA vs. Skitaari and new Eldar. Would have been okay, but he brought a Wraithknight and we had nothing to touch it. Skitaari player brought two Land Raiders, same story. Overall, it was a stomping, but we got first blood and Warlord kill from a scattering Vindicator.

I'll but, went to a tournament over the weekend with space marines with space wolves. Got ROFLstomped my first round by pentyrant nids. Between the unkillable cover of the malenthropes and with a focus on CC myself, it was over before it began.

Second round got nids again (nooooo!!!). Much more tame list with only 2 tyrants, bunch of gribbles and a living artillery node. Much better game for me since my CC was greater than his. Once I controlled the middle of the board it was just a slow burn to victory.

Third game was against adlance with skitarii. This was just not a fun game. The player was alright but it was just an unfun list to play against. Killed two knights with some luck but was basically tabled.

That doesn't sound fun! I'm dreading games against close combat armies, I have no idea how to deal with it! My opponent took out 3 full units and a vehicle with just one of his wolve packs. Then tied up my Broadsides with some blood claws, it sucked.

1500 points of my Sisters with an Inquisitor friend vs a Decurion+CAD Necrons.

Pulled a 6-2 victory by forcing the Necrons to engage me piecemeal rather than letting their full crushing weight of fire hit me.

1,500 Ultramarine footslogging Demi-company vs. Necrons. Squeaked out a minor victory, fun was had by all. Learned a lot about the new necrons, as it’s been a while since I faced them.

Played against some grey knights with my inq/ig armor list.

I have 3 russes , 2 chimeras with vets, manticore, 2 vendetta, ccs that arrives with a vendetta, ox inqiisitor, 2x henchmen in razorbacks.

He had a deep strike gk army with lots of terminators, 2 dk, and 10 interceptors with a com relay aegis for rerolls with the dk holding the relay turn 1.

He deep struck all his army turn 1 and picked off a couple transports, then half his army disappeared to my plasma/melta/lasguns

It was a rough game for my opponent. He was tabled turn 4.

This was a practice game for an upcoming tournament so we went into it knowing we were going to bring our A game.

I played a game last saturday against Chaos space marines that had helbrute formation. I was playing with my Dark Eldar. I got first turn, but my shooting was ineffective due to his amazing rolls. At that point I realized it was going to be that type of game with your oppnent making super rolls. I can even recall the massive amount of six's he was rolling for things such as invul saves and snap shooting. Even with his awsome rolling I almost won. Had it not gone to turn 6 I would have won.

So it was meh game.

I got tabled two games in a row by new Eldar with my GK. Had a great time though, enjoying the hospitality and sportsmanship of a fellow gamer. I honestly can't remember the last game I won...

Played a 1500pts per player 2vs2 game.

My opponents: Orks and Space Wolves
Our team: Tyranids and Chaos (Renegades and CSM)

Our enemy conceded before they got their 3rd turn. Orks were gone and just some Space Wolves Terminators and two immobilized Dreadnoughts left.

Played 1500 point Tyr whit 7MC (2flyrant) vs Cron whit decurion and wright formation.
I lost for first blood in a "emperor's Will mission

I lost horribly with my Crons.

Lost 6 wraiths,3 warriors and got a glance on my comm barge on the first turn -_-

Nids have some veeeery nasty lists

I played Orks against Tau.

Due to random deployment (narrative mission), my unit of MANZ didn't do anything all game.

My boyz all died to overwatch or regular shooting. I killed maybe a few models.

Tau really just aren't fun to play against.

How does someone manage to kill 6 Wraiths in one turn? Did he get lucky with a ton of Flyrants?

Wait, he must have shot before you could activate RP. That makes more sense but still not a lot.

I played new eldar vs old eldar (friend wanted to see the difference in power level). Turn 1 I killed his WK with 1 shot from mine (6 with D cannon) and 2 serpents. Turn 2 I mopped up the WG that came out of the serpents, nuked his fire prism and killed half the Hawks that came in from reserves. Turn 3 he conceded when all he had left was a crimson hunter with 1 HP.

Played a scenario with Orks and Chaos vs DA. Won with 60 Orks left.

The last game I played was a 30k game at Adepticon using a weird Kill Team rule set where you can buy individual models from various units and mix/match them. I lost by a victory point, but had a blast.

My 2 wound Imperial Fists Templar Brethren sergeant killed off 4 units by himself. Rar!

Very last game involved me playing space marines vs GK.

the game looked uneventful but in reality i was losing heavily by points, but the GK player didn't notice anything but him loosing models and was getting up set.

Sat there reassuring him he is doing fine..

Funny how people sometime completely ignore the facts and plays on emotions :/

The game previous to that was exactly the same way as well.

I tabled new eldar (1500) turn three with sister/allied tiggy-centurions and iron priest thunder wolves. He had a bunch of dark eldar poison shooting and wwp dscythes.

Had a really enjoyable game with my 30k Mechanicum and a Cerastus Castigator vs a guy at my local club playing Crimson Fists. He had an invisible Superfriends unit with Tigger, Pedro, a Chaplain, a Techmarine and a whole bunch of cc scouts that just rolled through anything it touched. My Thallax engaged anything he had that wasn't that and caused some hurt. Tank hunting lascannon devs hammered the Knight down over the course of two turns, but luckily nothing got wiped in the blast.

I was able to scratch the "scoutstar" a couple times by targeting nearby units with flamers and got a couple lucky sixes in cc, so they didn't quite complete their rampage to claim my "Emperor's Draw" objective (we were playing 1 Maelstrom 1 EW mission). I wound up winning purely on a D3 rolled for the "hold 3 objectives" card.

Very enjoyable close game. We both agreed the 30k list was far more balanced than many lists you see in 40k, as he was running about as vanilla a space marine list as you can make and even with a Knight running around it was a dead heat. He does know his way around a tournament, however, and the devs were included purely with the ever-popular Knights in mind.

Played against a fluffy thousand sons list at 1500 points, he was pooping out 17 or so Warp charges a turn plus the D6, I was using my Necrons in a local Campaign with which I managed to achieve Psychic Mastery level 1... Woo 2 warp charges!

Anyway it was really fun to play, I won by eventually Tabling him, but only because Ahriman was sucked into the Warp on Perils xD

I played a 1250 point game against my boss. My Chaos Space Marines tabled his Dark Angels. He did decide that he was going to spend his points on Belial, a librarian, and a bunch of deathwing squads. I brought a Daemon Prince, Chaos Lord, 1 squad of 10 marines, 2 squads of 5 marines, a squad of autogun cultists, raptors, bikers, and a helbrute. I just sat back and made him bring his 20 models to their death. He was so annoyed I thought it might impact my job lol.

Was 3 wounds away from tabling the enemy, he won with a bunch of extra VP. Game ended by turn 6, if we had a turn 7, I would've won.

The tabling gambit doesn't always work out

Iv had a few victory like that

Played a small 750 game, my Dark Eldar vs my friend and his Tau. I switched up my typical list big time, no raiders, no lances/blasters... When I realized I had nothing to crack armor against Tau I was a little worried but then my friend said he didn't bring any tanks so that reaaaaaally could have went poorly. I had 2 units of 6 reavers with 2 cluster caltrops, Haemonculous with 5 Grotesques and 2 units of 5 Warriors in Venoms. Started off reaaaaaally unsure, even more unsure when he was getting really great overwatch rolls and I kept failing to roll for my warlord unit to come in. But once the Haemy and Grots hit the scene the game was over, they obliterated everything it was terrifying.

I used to have like 5 or 6 armies, 2 of which I'm still trying to unload so just having the one army now I'm forced to keep playing as them and getting to know their nuances. It's awesome.

Infantry guard (platoons, priests, psykers, Old Man Yarrick a wyvern, 2 Earthshacker field guns and a CCS w/ Curov's Aquila) against New Eldar (Avatar, Karandras, Scorpions Banshees 2 Wraithlords and Spiders)
Very Fun game and a real bloodbath for both sides. The Avatar died to Krak grenades, a Scorpion Exarch took my icarus LC and blew up my vendeta, only to eat a LC in overwatch by my CCS. Yarrick's squad bled IC to capture objectives while at the other side of the board a commisar fed men to a wraithlord to hold him there. Guard wins 3-2. The most enjoyable game i' ve had in a while.

Played 500 pt Maelstrom (the one where you get another objective each turn) My Nids vs my GF's Eldar. First time going up against the new codex. She brought an Autarch, two squads of Dire Avengers, and a squad of Wraithguard in a Wave Serpent. I brought a Flyrant, two Zoanthropes, a Venomthrope, and two units of 14 Termagants.
By turn two, my Flyrant took out a unit of Avengers and took 2 HP from the Wave Serpent.
I guess I got cocky, thinking I'd table my GF's army. Her Wraithguard shot my flyrant out of the sky (Strength D!!!!!).
The Exarch charged the remainder of the army, killing 14 termagants before being overwhelmed.
Long story short, I lost 2 to 7, though she was nearly tabled by turn 5.

It was awesome! I played a Freakshow list, and my opponent was playing new Eldar. (Night Spinner, Farseer, three units of Guardians, some Swooping Hawks, a Wave Serpent, some Dark Reapers, and some Wraithblades. I had some warriors in Venoms, a Scalpel Squadron, a unit of Windriders with a Farseer, an Archon with some Fire Dragons, and a Cast of Players formation in a Raider.)

My psykers wound up stuck in Reserve for most of the game, but when they actually showed up, they showed out in spades! The Freakshow tactics really put in work, especially on the Guardians. By the end of turn four, I had every unit in his army destroyed or fleeing off the board. So close to victory, I got greedy and tried to run his remaining units down and table him.

Phenomenally, he managed to pull out the greatest comeback ever! His troops managed to kill off my Farseer and his bikers, the only unit close enough to finish them, and then get just far enough away to claim an objective for the 3-2 victory with only a single unit of battered survivors still huddling at the table edge. It was the coolest loss I've sustained in many a year!
