Altough I'm a BA fanboy at heart, I just had to choose Dark Angels.
a) their painting scheme is in the end pretty cool
b) they are heretic-hunting badasses who are constantly on a crusade to right their wrongs and coceal their shady past.
I'm actually not a fan of their double role with both Death- and Ravenwing.
If the Ravenwing never excisted in the fluff, the chapter would be even more badass IMO.
Might also work the other way around.

Black Templars. The eternally crusading chapter. Doesn't rely on psykers in battle. Filled with hate and zeal and ready to bring it to the enemy via a powerfist to the face. Nuf said.

This. The only Chapter that the entire IoM refuses to work with beacause of how violent and psychopathic they are. When even the Inquisition think you are too willing to sacrifice allies, you may have issues.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. *cough* Flesh Tearers *cough* The Flesh Tearers not only worked alongside the Blood Angels and other Imperial armies in Leviathan, they even took the time to save some Sisters of Battle. You don't see the Sharks stopping the muder-hoboing to save some space nuns! Also, while it is a weaker argument even the table top rules enforce this, as they are desperate allies with any IoM army.

Oh yeah, and they have lots of nipple armor.
Gameplay wise, they're so much fun to play if not in a competitive setting...When your six-man Sanguinary Guard unit charges and completely slaughters a nine-man Imperial Fist squad before they even get to swing back (I didn't even get to roll for axes and fists) you'll know what I'm talking about.
Very much this.
They come across as righteous and noble but come the fight they rip people apart and drink blood, doesn't get much more bad ass than that

Well, the Blood Angels are the only chapter that has accepted the help from Flesh Tearers, and even that is because the new Chapter Master has shaken things up a little bit.
Most Imperial groups have refused to work with them because of their bloodlust that isn't always focused on the enemy.

Uh what. As much as I should be saying Salamanders....
Astral Knights by a long shot. So badass you did not even put them in your poll.
Chapter Master Amrad takes his battle barge and rams a necron world engine right up the balls, then takes his brothers on a 1 way mission to kill, burn, maim everything on and in the world engine, including the world engine, while the imperial ships outside blast you to dust.
Yeah and all the other chapters involved are glad the Astral Knights did it, because none of them had the balls to do it themselves. Showing their respect, they tell the surviving Astral Knights to go and off themselves, even though chapters have rebuilt to full strength against much worse losses. Because god forbid, its easier to just let the chapter die off and split their remaining stuff among the other chapters.
Top it off by having the smurf successor Sable Swords come in and just take their monastery for themselves, even though that part of the fluff is screwed up.
At least BA saluted their awesomeness.
