Im building a daemon prince, it looks khorne ish.
Let me hear what you think.

I want to cover the top of the tail in a skirt or cape and then paint the base wich has a tail already.

I made three bodies with what i had, just to see what i could make.

I ordered three torsos of dragon ogres on ebay, together with some legs from skullcrushers of khorne.
And the arms are chaos terminator and raptor lightning claws.

Glad you like it, i bought the bits on ebay because they looked so cool, i didnt even know what i was going to build.

I love converting Daemon Princes! They have the most versatility in conversion

The base is fron a broken dragon cup of sorts.
Bought it in sweden actually, a few years ago on one of those shopping malls right on the border towards norway.

Actually these legs are a little bit stubby i think, and it will take some work to hide the fact that they dont fit right on there easily.

I like the models, they flow really well and the magma cutters work perfectly. But aren't they a bit on the small side for a daemon prince?

Actually just need to raise it one or two centimetres.
If you look at the one with a base there, he is actually one cm taller than a daemon prince according to my googling.
Daemonprince is about 6.5cm mine is 7.5cm

Mmh, I was thinking without the base. Then again, I consider the GW prince to be too small, I prefer the Forgeworld size. This is before basing ofc. Which ofc means that a greater daemon needs to be huge as it towers above a prince.

They come in all forms and sizes though, considering how doomrider used to be a daemon prince no bigger than a marine on a bike. I like the GW nurgle prince a lot and he's quite a bit smaller than the forgeworld prince, so yea. I guess as long he looks good, size isn't really an issue.

And of your three, I like the first the most. Has the best pose imho. Looks like he's commanding an army. Don't think I would change anything really. Except, if I were to make one from scratch like that, I would try to make him bigger , as in the guy himself. My bases aren't usually that elaborate though.

I am trying to make one, but so far I haven't been able to find pieces at the size I want. Thinking of maybe making the older metal prince stand taller. He's ok sizewise but he's crouching. Not sure I have the skill to pull it off though XD. In the mean time you already have three bodies lol.

The size doesnt matter too much, as i imagine daemon princes, as you said, come in different sizes.
I kind of like that it isnt too big, because i think it need to be able to go into a land raider and stuff.
I laugh at thinking that when my warband leaves towards the ships, my daemon prince must walk all the way.

Or maybe he would stand atop the landraider pointing and shouting, chaaaarge towards the transports, lets go home.

Which is exactly why I don't much like using daemon princes as my warlord , at least not in small games.

They get kind of disconnected from the marines, being a daemon and all. I doubt they can actually physically follow their warband. They'd have to tear a whole into reality just like any other daemon. I'm not sure how they join battles in the lore.

I prefer to stick with my powerarmoured dudes lol

I totally agree with you.

My exeption is khorne daemonkin.
I bought the codex, but i dont have any daemons.
In the book there is fluff for why and how the daemons join, so there it feels natural to mix them.

They start off their "story" with just marines and their gear, and then as they reap skulls, more daemons join their ranks, until at last, most of the humans have died and there are mostly daemons left, khornes army of daemons made flesh.

I already knew my cultists were just fodder for the chaos lords but that is pretty brutal.

Its actually pretty cool and "realistic".
Perhaps believable is a better word.
It fits so well with all the blood tithe summoning.

I know it seems like everyone says daemonprince of khorne with no wings suck, but wouldnt it be okay to bring one if you give no defensive gear and just put him in a squad of melee dudes? Let the sargeant take the challenges.

I would have to atleast give him power armor
