Hey guys. I have 20 warhounds of chaos I use as flesh hounds. Are these acceptable counts as, since the old flesh hounds came with rectangle bases? GW has gone on record saying that any bases that come with a kit are acceptable to use.
Thanks guys.

It's what I have been using. Nobody has had an issue. I am rebasing mine on the rounded cavalry bases but I just like how they look.

As long as you aren't running chaos hounds and flesh hounds in the same army using minis that look the same most people won't care. They are hounds, clearly on cavalry bases and can easily be identified by those 2 things.

I use Dire Wolves as my proxies (screw paying $200 for 20 hounds, especially in finecast). I use the rounded rectangle bases for aesthetic reasons (my local GW manager actually suggested doing so). I'd have used the squared bases otherwise.

What is the basis of their complaint? I can't see what advantage you'd be gaining.

They're saying the bases are illegal, I'm modeling for advantage, since they released new bases I should use those, that since they're not the "real" flesh hound models and they're "counts as" the least I could do is use 40mm bases, " rectangle bases are for fantasy" etc etc

That could very well be the case. Though I recall someone who knows him IRL coming on here laughing at his trollish behaviour here as it seemed so at odds with him at the store.

Flesh Hounds don't even have circle bases in their box

Just Dalymiddleboro. Don't worry though. I'll keep you company on dakka for a long time. Now, if you don't mind, either post something relevant to my thread or move along. If you start to miss me, we can chat through pm. Thanks brother.

I think the new ones that came out with the daemonkin book do.

Chaos hounds work fine. It is a very common counts as due to the flesh hounds being extremely expensive fine cast.
The rules for basing just say to use the base the model comes with. What this means is flesh hounds can be on; rectangle fantasy bases, oblong 40K bases, or 50mm round bases (new). There has never been a rule that tells you to rebase models if the kit changes and GW has repeatedly answered that you do not have to.
In fact the online kit description even says; "This is a finely detailed resin cast kit, and contains twenty-five components with which to make five Flesh Hounds of Khorne seated on either 50mm round bases or rectangular cavalry bases - five of each are supplied."

You misunderstand me, my point wasn't that you had a troll account, at least not any more, as I know at least one of those was closed because I was the one who connected it back to you, no, my point was that if your personality on Dakka, which, the long litany of locked threads on your account testifies to, is somewhat inclined to post topics which seem designed purely to incite conflict, isn't just you being you and is in fact a deliberate attempt to disrupt, means that "Dalymiddleboro" is, in fact a troll account in and of itself.
If you're interested in my thoughts on the topic at hand, I suggest you check out the near identical thread I posted in barely 48 hours ago.

At my local store, several Chaos Daemon players play 40k AND Fantasy with the square/rectangle bases. It doesn't do much to hinder game play at all, and none of us are going to make them own TWO identical armies with the exception of square bases for one, round for the other. Makes no sense, and makes people That Guy. People tend to only have a problem with it because Daemons are the only army to cross over into 40K, and are the only army to suffer this issue. Which isn't even a damn issue. Play the game and worry less because 'he has different shaped bases than me!'.
The "bases in the warhounds box" argument is BS - they're not the proper models, so obviously only the base size of the models they're representing is relevant.
Its best if you rebase them, but that said, I haven't rebased mine, because I also use them in Kings of War and if they're on larger bases it makes it harder to stick them in movement trays
MFA etc are BS too. Your game group needs to dig the sand out of their vags and just get to playing.

You post in every thread I create, I'm flattered. You certainly seem to have a thing about me.
Second, nothing you have said on this topic had been relevant, or on point.
There, I don't need to write a book to get my point across.
I'm sure I'll hear from you soon Azrael, you are in fact my number 1 fan.
As much as I wish to jump on this Daly hate train, I just am to lazy right now.
Although I back Azreal 100%.
But on topic, I use those models and nobody complains. If you want to go a step further, cut normal small circle bases out and put each half on the ends of the rectangle. The result is near identical to oval shaped ones.

So what is this between Azrael and Daly? Are they having relationship troubles? You guys should try makeup sex.
On topic: Chaos warhounds are a perfectly acceptable counts as for Khorne fleshounds, as they are both hounds and Chaos. However, being a WHFB unit, the Chaos Warhounds come supplied with WHFB bases that are not legal to use in 40k. In order for them to be acceptable I think you should rebase them to 40mm or 50mm 40k bases.

Azreal just likes to prove without a shadow of a doubt that Daly is a troll and Daly just likes to provide more and more evidence that he is one. Its a love-hate relationship.
