If you dislike the goofy head of the Kastelans but love the rest of the model, you may appreciate this quick fix!

Literally just turn the head around, drop it in a few mm lower and then GS it it. Case it up and here you go!

Voila!

I don't really like it myself. It looks worse in my eyes because of those shoulder plates it has. It makes it look like a guy on steroids with a disproportionate tiny head.
Each their own opinion though.

I think it's an immense improvement. A bit more Starship-Troopers-ish powered-armor look. This etc.

For some reason it reminds me of Big Daddy from Bioshock. But yeah, definitely looks better

Wow. I like this so much more. I feel like you could probably detail the head a little more, maybe stick some wire in as antenna of some sort, or... RIVETS! to get more detail in on it.

But definitely will be using this technique though.

I just noticed that you mounted the phosphor blasters on the arm. How did you do that? I prefer that look so much more as it looks more like the FW Castellax and Thanatar:

Cut the barrell off and re- attach the nozzle. Its easy! You Just need a good enough knife.

Cheers. I finally decided I'd settle on a more Castellax design. My plan is to leave the shoulder blaster, and then cut the barrels off the two arm ones. I ordered a set of 10 Razorback heavy bolter turrets, planning to do a barrel swap and slap that on to the arm of my Kastelan.

Heres what they ( and my servitors) look like so far!

Will post up finished ones on wednesday.

The second one isn't That said, I love the effect of the heads now! I didn't like them initially when it was just a round ball, but now that you made it look like one of those dark glass casings around the CCTVs you find in malls, it actually looks quite menacing.

The trick is to flip it upside down and then back around again!

Glad you like them, i really like them this way. Much more Cybernetic and much less Cbeebies.

I've been thinking about trying to make it more 30K & wondered whether terminator shoulder pads fit?

Which is precisely what I find very desireable for a remote-controlled face-punching battle robot. Much better than Herpy the Derpbot-style "face" the models are supposed to have at any rate...

And now I might contemplate getting some, because this makes them look way, WAY better. Great work!

I like what you've done with this, especially the gun on the arm, it looks so much better that way .

Very nice. the smaller head really lends itself well to the concept of a mindless hulking war machine.

For my own Kastelan I'm going to be replacing the dome heads with those of the FW Thallax and adding on Centurion shoulder plates. Hopefully it works out.

I'm curious to see how the Thallax heads look on the Kastelan, since its so small. Let us know how it goes!
