Agreed, looking forward to the campaign books myself, there's usually a shedload of new art in those, unlike the codex books.

I would buy the feth out of a Space Marine/Tau boxset.

...And even maybe buy the book.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Just a thought. What if the "new crisis suits" are space marine/tau boxed set exclusives. Like the rat ogres and deffkoptas.

The boxed sets have not had exclusive units, just a single character who is essentially a variant of an existing plastic model.

The only real exception has been Krom Dragongaze from the Stormclaw boxed set as there is no plastic model which could have been used as the basis for him.

Fw has new tau bundle and new tau Titan variant...

Description

Carrying catastrophically destructive weapons, Tau Supremacy armour is intended to meet a threat that the Tau Empire has not yet prepared for; the defence of worlds within their growing domain from the counter-expansion forces of other races. Larger than any other current battlesuit, the KX139 Ta’unar Supremacy Armour was designed to eliminate the increasing numbers of enemy heavy assault elements encountered by the Tau empire, from Imperial Knights to the towering alien monstrosities of the Tyranid Hive Fleets.

Armed with a pair of Fusion Eradicators and a Pulse Ordnance Multi-driver, this KX139 Ta’unar Supremacy Armour Battlesuit is ready to engage enemies at range and dominate the battlefield.

It's a thing, apparently. It's in the 6th edition Codex.

Where does it say that the Tau are fighting amongst themselves?

It says that they were developed for a purpose they hadn't needed to consider before, "the defence of worlds within their growing domain from the counter-expansion forces of other races."

Is that a new Fire Warrior? It looks pretty much the same as current ones to me (though I only really see them as I remove them from the board )

It is. We have a name for a "new" Fire Warrior box, building Strike or Breacher Teams.

Best guess right now is that the one shown is a "Breacher" since he has a Carbine and what some are saying is a jetpack.

Can't wait to see some Codex leak snippets and potato quality pictures.

I am actually kind of excited to see what these new breachers can do.

Is next week the campaign box or just Crisis Suits and Fire Caste?

Well it actually looks like a Tau could fit inside the suit now so that's a bonus.

It doesn't look bigger to me, though mounting it on a 50mm base is a good call however, the 40mm was a bit too small for the suits.

Ah. Looks like a bonding knife handle or the helmet antenna stick to the backpack. Can't see the rest of the pack, and can't tell if the helmet is frowning. Otherwise, looks like they kept what works (I like the FW model).

I had figured that they took the picture of the new suit next with an old FW.

Keep the pics coming!

It's kind of impossible for it to not be bigger considering the torso and waist are now different pieces.

It seems to fill that 50mm base quite well too.

Seems to be in a similar position to this, admittedly converted, original Crisis suit.

It's a shame that they didn't change those stubby legs on the suit, but the torso is noice.

I love how it's black model parts on black background, making it impossible to tell if the one important part of the model, the ankle, has been updated.

The new crisis is bigger it seems, I wonder if they fit a pilot inside as well but I guess it would be too cool lol.

The FW seems pretty similar to the current one, which makes me happy as I got a full jar of those to assemble and paint. The design is pretty good, FWs were what got me into Tau!

What got me into Tau was the Starship Troopers feel of the crisis suits. Robot suits that aren't stupid giant anime robots.

And the Railhead, because BAM! RAILGUN!

I don't think we'll see a pilot inside modeled suit, it would be too compact, making the walls and such too weak.

Psst.

The legs aren't stubby. It's crouching.

And kamikaze. They're both in the current book(s). There is a story of some famous pirahna pilot instructor that kamikaze's into IIRC an ork gargant when he runs out of ammo or somesuch. Under Farsight's entry either in the codex or supplement, it says he'd likely commit ritual suicide if he ever found out his long lifespan is due to his sword sucking the lifeforce out of everything he kills and giving it to him.
