Hey guys,

So just a very quick post starter to sow whats being built as we speak. I came up with the idea to have "floating/ jet propulsion" lobbas when I saw these ogyrn guns on a bit site, considering each gun was like less than £1 it seemed I could build mass squads of them extremely cheaply. The benefits being the scenery rokkit base actually means you can not worry about how the base looks or the lower part of the gun (IE where wheels would be - which are infinitely more annoying to do IMO).

Prototype - needs to be bulked out and continued

Nice repurposing of the ogryn gun (although remember to cover up that ogryn hand )

Not sure whether I like the tripod mount - why not just go for a traditional mortar look? - would probably easier to model too.

Definately an interesting idea. I think that bulking it up would help a lot. Maybe add some pieces like a fuel tank to add to the actual functionality. could be really cool to have a grot with a remote control controling a bunch of these.

HAHA! yeh I won't be leaving that hand there

A tripod would be pretty easy, but since when would any grot choose a tripod when for da speeshul price of jus' 3 bags of big teef he can get da mek boyz smoke prepuulshun sistem, it 'elps wid da shootin' - apparently.

But yeh, I really like doing the smoke thing, so I will do a unit of 5 with rokkit bases, then maybe after i'll do some tripods.

Yeh i've got some bitz and bobs to add onto the lobba's to make them seem controlled, so if I can i'll definitely make a couple grots with remotes

I would bulk up the cartage like Novastri suggested, it looks needy in the way of worky bits.

Some sort of magazine near the bottom of the tube, or maybe sculpt the area the hand is into a clip of rounds (the whole system is based more like a mortar with 'drop in' rounds.

A round, or half round bit at the base of the jet where it conects to the body of the weapon. A gimble that moves the jet and directs the thrust for a stable platform.

All and all a most excellent build. I think that I may have to steal it!

Thanks Mud

Yeh currently they are lacking any features/gizmos, but I have my gubbins box out ready. Here are the other 4 at a similar level (AKA missing orky bitz + tidying up joints and such.

Just letting some of the basing and GS dry while I go do fathers day stuff then should get some more progress done later
