According to Darnok a month ago and an anonymous source on Faeit today, Games Workshop will release an Eldar army boxed set called Windrider Host soon. Faeit posted this (part of ?) order sheet today:

Its content is currently unknown - but with this name it should bring some Jetbike models and like all these boxed sets it should come with a discount. I will update the OP as soon as the actual content gets leaked

1st Update

Thanks, Fryguy49
The contents of the Windrider Host Box is
9 Jetbikes
1 Farseer Jetbike
1 Viper
You save about 30 dollars with it.

Wish they would do this for the orks with either Deff Koptas (AoBR models) or new warbuggy models.

WarmaHordes: Menoth, Legion, Skorne, Convergence

Is this available direct-only? Or through normal LGS channels?

Well, fisrt they need to make new kits for them, then we can get a Speed Freak Warband box.

Runnin up on ya.

They don't do real market research but they DO apparently listen when broken rules are identified.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Funnily enough it's not an actual Windrider host...It's missing a Warlock on bike

But that's cool since it's a normal release you're looking at the actual GW price discount with 20-25% off on top of that so nice!

The Farseer on bike kit builds a Warlock as well.

Yeah, I love it when they do these boxes. I'm thinking about saving up to get a second Dark Elf Warhost of Naggaroth--depending on how Age of Sigmar plays out--just because of all the goodies in the box.

$30 off seems pretty big for GW on a smallish kit

Hope it's true

I'm aware. But you need 11 bikes & a vyper for the Warhost. 1 Farseer, Warlock Council (Min. 1), 3x3 Bikes and the Vyper. So you're a bike short to make the Warhost.

I'm surprised they still make that Dark Elf one, the ones they've been releasing with the 40k codexes seem to have been more limited time ones. Depending how AoS works out and if they still sell it after I might pick that one up too. I was very heavily into the idea of a combined Elf army before all the fantasy shakeup happened.

As to this Eldar one, seems a bit random. I wonder if they saw how people reacted to the Jetbikes and are doing it to make more money off the broken rule... Bit tinfoil hat-ish?

The only thing that’s off about it is that it’s not the actual formation. As was pointed out, it’s lacking the spare warlock. But the concept of boxing up one of the core formations and selling it is perfectly reasonable. Makes an easy getting on point for the army. I’d have to price out the other Eldar core hosts, but I suspect that they cost more.

I’d not be surprised if there was a 3 tac, 1 assault, 1 dev, +captain box for SM lurking somewhere in the pipe. But that’s just my speculation.

It's not the actual box that's random, just that they usually release them with the codex, releasing it a couple of months later is the random part.

To be fair, they didn't stop selling the Eldar Battleforce during the timeframe so they had no real reason to push this one out the door.

Which is a big reason why the Dark Elf one is still around, I think.

You mean something similar to the Battle Demi-company ? I doubt it.

If you drop the (optional) dread and command squad, the price might get down to something sensible. The detachment/formation direction the game is going just screams out for box sets. Easy to sell, it’s everything you need, in one place!

The demi-company is not that far off in size from the SM strikeforce boxes.
