So in the past I've argued against belial and now that the new codex is here I feel it's even worse for the old timer.

Belials teleport homer is totally worthless in the strike force or the redemption force, in addition company masters and generics in general got only cheaper in tda.

Yes belial has +1 attack and his squad doesn't scatter but the gap between him and a company master with the same alternate load outs (shield n hammer, double claws) is now a full 20 points cheaper if you use digital weapon to help offset belials +1A. If you don't the CM is 30 points down which is a huge points drop for essentially the same guy that could be spent plenty of ways.

We haven't even begun to discuss the fact that belial still doesn't have a shooting attack if he takes his hammer, and can have an inferior save because the captain can buy a storm shield, retain his claws and still come in at 30 points cheaper (no digital).

It's a lot harder to argue choosing belial unless your using pistol n sword, especially with his ignores cover on his sb. I won't argue against that loadout because it's far superior to the captains but I don't see the merit in taking him in those two load outs anymore.

Basically it comes down to this...
If you don't use his "no-scatter"-rule, Belial is overpriced and worthless. Since in this edition Ravenwing is really strong and works well for Terminators, Belial only has a place in a CAD.
He is supposed to fight in challenges, yet gets destroyed in said ones.

verily, well if your going up against most modern beasts like Dante or Logan.

Or Marny. Or Abaddon. Or a Daemon prince.

Even my Warboss usually krumps belial. And that's without mega armour.

Did you know "belial" is literally hebrew for "useless"
