Archaon dwarfs the other two, but the shoulders of the chosen are slightly higher than the running warrior. Which makes sense since the warrior is lunging forward a tiny bit. Can we kill the thread now?
Nice, Archaeon, a giant (bigger than the mounted one) one-off rushed figure GW had made because of a rule that if a characters monster mount was killed, the player needed the character on foot or he was dead, and mounted Archaeon was not selling.
...What?
Archaon on Foot wasn't rushed. He was for a Games Day, and got showed off months in advance of that event. The Archaon on Foot model was also available at official GW "road trip" events for Storm of Chaos. I regret never having gotten one because damn it was a good model.

You've missed the point. When someone supplies evidence in support of their argument, it's much better to try and discredit their evidence with an opinion rather than supporting your argument with evidence.
Has the internet taught you nothing?!

As you can see from this (rather poor ) photo of an early Orc Warboss, and a recent one, size creep has been going on for years. Poor old Gorfang on the left could hardly frighten a mob of goblins these days!
On the subject of size, I think its a great shame GW didn't use the change to round bases to reduce the height of the bases, or should I say pedestals that their minis are sold with. The present ones are a throwback to the days of slotta-bases which needed the height to accomodate the tangs on metal miniatures - certainly not needed any more.

In fairness to rexscarlet, the archeon on foot model is huge, and doesn't represent the scale of chaos warriors at the time of release. The reavers in Aos measure 30mm from foot to eye, and they are men. The scale has definitely gone up.

My pet peeve as well - I now base everything on Renedra bases. These GW plinth bases are annoying!

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days... |
