Subject: Dual Wielding Weaponry?
|
 |
Neophyte Undergoing Surgeries
|
Hello All,
After checking many threads, I have come across multiple reactions to this. Many say yes, others say no. Here is how I think dual wielding pistols would work
<Replace Boltgun/whatevs with bolt pistol/chainsword>
<Replace Chainsword for plasma pistol, grav pistol, inferno pistol>
What are the effects of this?
Do they count as twin-linked?
If not, can you shoot both in one Shooting Phase or must you choose one?
And Dual Wielding CCW
I haven't found a way for this, after reading through the Codex many times. Would be cool if you could dual wield power swords, or chainswords.
Any help would greatly be appreciated

For the pistols : p.42 of the BRB --> a model with two pistols can fire both in its shooting phase.
If you have dual weapons, it's only +1 attack on standard profile, nothing more nothing less. Mind the Specialist Weapon rule too.

You need two pistols of the same type to get twin-linked shooting. Close combat specialities are usually a special rule thing, and it is not too common with Imperials to have two ccw weapons of the same type. If you're interested how that would play out, look at Eldar/Dark Eldar rules.

Nope, wrong.
Razgriz is right.
As an addition: if you have two melee weapons (no Sepcialist), you get +1 and have to choose with which one you make all your melee attacks in this melee phase.

Gunslinging assault marines with a plasma pistol and a bolt pistol can be kinda fun. Flying cowboy marines!
Don't expect them to be terrifically effective, though.

Sisters of Battle have access to flying angel nuns with dual flamethrowers. Flamethrowers. Your point is invalid.
Terms and conditions apply. Limited to two barbeque-nuns per squad. Side effects of fielding Sisters of Battle include sudden bouts of religious fervor, chronic lack of money, and mild burns.

But you can't shoot the bolter and the pistol. Sadly.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |

There is a rule for both.
For pistols it's called gunslinger, page 42. You simply get to fire both.
For melee you want to look at page 49. You get an additional attack for having two weapons. It doesn't matter what weapon. Unless it is a specialist weapon, in which case you would need a second specialist weapon in order to gain the extra attack.
You can even get the extra attack if your using two pistols
