Subject: Creating a real ork mob, with your help! - the Dakka Dakka Clan - American ork shipped
OK, if you insist. Still in the sloppy basecoat stage. Pictured with an old UM captain. In theory both of them will be my entry for this month’s painting competition “heroes and villeins”
Fair point, Camkierhi. Pics from me will have to wait until I 1) take them and 2) steal my wife's laptop to upload them. Desktop doesn't have a card reader, camera doesn't have a USB cable, and my phone is an ancient potato.
Hopefully, I'll have a bit more to show, by then. Progress is being made, though.

Quick update: Most of the NA packages seem to have gone through, but I recently received one (domestic, so it's not a customs issue) that got bounced by the Post Office after two failed delivery/reroute attempts. If Matt S. is still following this thread and wonders where his Ork is, PM me. Either you've moved or I/we got the initial address wrong - either way, I can send out a new package if you confirm your current info.
I'd hate to rob a volunteer... but, worst case scenario, I paint an extra boy.

I think combination of new baby and college work have caught up with KB. Wouldn't worry about it too much, he's a reliable fella. He'll be back when he's able.
Not sure if I’m done with this guy. Just gave him a black wash last night. But in the final stretch. Thought and opinions for things I should do? Or is it time for the box?
ah, good to see you're alive man! I was kinda getting worried...haven't heard from you in ages - I thought the command tanks had finished you off or something! ...now you're building a warlord?! good lord, you madman!
I've actually been lurking this thread for quite a while now, but by the time I found it, it looked like everything had already been split up and assigned, so I didn't bother trying to get involved...but hey, if there's anything I can help with (erm, well, painting/modelling-wise anyway, logistics isn't my strong suit ), just lemme know, I'd be happy to help out! - I'm over in Perth though, so it's probably not the most convenient option, but, it would probably be easier than if I was overseas I guess

Just got back from the post office. My Ork is off to join the great Waggggghh. Well, first stop is the NA rendezvous point, then the big trip once he mobs up with the rest of the boyz.

The command tanks did break me. I found myself incredibly stressed out over man dollies and took that as an opportunity to re-evaluate my life The warlord is something that has been staring at me from a box for over a year - much like the other 10k points of grey plastic I have here.
I reckon I've lost about a third of the orks that went out, very few of which would have been malicious or intentional, but I did manage to acquire some replacement orks here anyway - I can send you one of your choosing if you PM me your address.

Awesome thank you mate, I haven't really gone through the forums to see what it is you've done or sent, but I will soon(tm)

PM sent
haha...I know exactly what it's like to have a good 10k points of grey plastic staring you down...my hobby shelves in front of me are filled with millions of little grey eyes staring at me with contempt ...although I don't have a sodding warlord giving me the evil eye too! *shudders*...think I'm kinda glad...that's gotta be intimidating!

They're still here because I didn't yet paint mine, and I was waiting for some stragglers (and less importantly KB to be ready to base them so we can get a group shot at WHW).
I'll be keeping an eye out for your package, Nevelon. Yours will be the first, as I've been lax in working on my own. Figured it will take everyone else long enough that I won't be the holdup (well, this time ).

All good though.
If you need any more UK boyz consider me on the bench and ready to fill in
Dark Angels/Deathwing - just getting started!
Space Marines - Stark Crusaders 4500pts/PL244 (2700pts painted)
Eldar - Biel Tan 2000pts
Space Wolves 1500pts
Did I not show you the basing BC, good god i did fall off the map.
I saw the basius idea and thought it was brilliant, then realised i can do the same thing more closely aligned with my own terrain by press moulding instamold against my tablescapes boards.

Your boy arrived, safe and sound, Nevelon! I'll clear him a little spot of honor in my display case (and hold on to the extra gubbins) until the whole lot is ready to ship. Hopefully, he gets some friends, soon!
Oh, I took the liberty of slapping a little light grey paint on the underside of the base and breaking out the micron pen, since you didn't label it. If I have complete info for people, I'm adding first name and last initial, plus Dakka handle (e.g. mine will read 'Alan G, oadie'). I can do the same for anyone else who forgets.

Glad he made it! The guy a the post office gave me a little flack for the small box. Said the automated system had trouble with them.
Thanks for labeling him for me. I had recalled that the eventual plan was that all the orcs were going to be removed from their bases and done together. So I didn't do anything to it, including putting my name on it. In hindsight, having some way of telling who's who until they reach their final waaaagggh is important. That information can be transferred to the new bases.
I recall kb wanting to know who did what via base labels, but also know that he/Buttery will be doing all of the basing to tie the lot together. Figure at least we can label the base underside, which is guaranteed not to mess with the model - whether he uses the original bases or new ones, a name/username will be present with each boy when he receives it.

I got back in touch towards the beginning of the summer (see dumb YouTube meme)in order to give my *permanent* address, but I have since not heard anything about getting an Ork. I believe oadie or whomever at least got the Return to Sender, can you confirm that it got back to you?
Sorry for the delay in response - I got the first return to sender, and sent it back out to the new address. Haven't gotten it back a second time, so I assumed it had arrived...
Still have the PM with your info, so I can send another out, if you're still interested. Only one boy has come back to me, so far, so I imagine I'm not shipping back to kb for some time, yet. I can only assume the previous was lost to the warp (a.k.a. the USPS).
