I have all but lost hope for Tzeentch.. but was curious as to why no one posted this?

http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2015/07/gw-rumors-end-of-summer-schedule.html

Is it because of the atrocious rumor accuracy rating? Is it because we are straight up getting trolled by people on the Tzeentch stuff?

Rumors are entertainment. I understand that much, at least. Perhaps WhisperofTruth's statement that Tzeentch is the next 40k release will be somewhat true.

I figured.

Something I've noticed lately- The traffic for 40k rumors discussion on the BoLS and Warseer forums has dropped significantly over the past few months.. Even BoLS forum goers barely discuss their own articles/rumor posts

Pretty effing pathetic if you ask me. I bet it has something to do with Pretre's most noble and glorious rumor tracking thread. Not sarcasm- I am sincere.

One thing I will say that I don't think was mentioned is that the piece of artwork Atia posted from the AoS book showing a lord of change fighting a bloodthirster had something interesting-

The BT was an EXACT copy of the version with the Str D axe, just translated into paint. The LoC has traditional characteristics, but is at the same time completely different than what we have seen before. It has a style more like the forgeworld LoC, but is simplified.. Almost as if it mimics a forthcoming LoC model. Just speculation, obviously..

GW are also on a kind of 'only draw/write about/talk about/photograph what we sell' kick.

Shame really. The CHS case really hit hard, and the effects were not good for creativity.

I have never understood the secrecy that GW uses. Had they been more up front about what they were releasing for Space Marines, I would have bought a lot more stuff. Instead, I was more frugal since I had spent money elsewhere on other hobbies.

On the one hand, I'd like to see the Tzeentch faction getting some love.

On the other hand, I'd rather see a new CSM codex first. A new codex which hopeful overhauls how cult troops work. Otherwise a Tzeentch daemonkin will be end up having similar problems as its Khorne counterpart, with overcosted, disfunctional units and crutch-rules to make it playable.

Phil Kelly was pretty adamant that the current style of CSM book will be around for a while. Sure, it might get an update.. but when I see the other stuff getting updated and looking the same but with copy/paste, new formations and tweaked rules, I don't have much faith in a new CSM book. We all see how copy/paste works out. Hell, just look at the TS entry.. The sorcerer only has slow and purposeful because they forgot to mention that he doesn't. Oh lawd.

In that context, TDK would be the best option for Tzeentch players, assuming the options were 1.) new copy/paste codex similar to recent releases and 2.) TDK.

Thanks for the artwork, interesting indeed. The problem with BOLS is not that they post stuff and people don't comment much on it but that they - and let's focus on 2013-2015, but this goes way further - were they posted so much wrong information about Chaos-related products that there is not much if any trust left.

Why do they still publish 'information' from the same 'sources' when they clearly don't provide anything correct? The rotation of 'breaking news' throughout the affiliated (kind of) blogs/networks is not making this any better...

The reliability of the stuff they post is not better than that of educated guesses. And those mostly false infos are definitely damaging peoples interest in the hobby. "Let's fix the Chaos Codex" followed by "They should REALLY fix that book" and then BOLS "New Chaos Codex INCOMING... maybe" has not done anything good for players who are already disappointed by the state of their army's performance. It has created a large amount of upset. And people now just ignore these posts.

All that is caused by low effort in quality control - it is sad because most of the other material BOLS provide makes them a quite interesting site to read in my opinion. Not perfect but they are good at what they do, offering a daily hub for the TT community.

I don't like their articles but if something gets tagged with Tzeentch my ears automatically go up

Thanks though that gives more insight into why no one really mentions it anymore.

Problem is, all those people commenting on those crap articles (not saying they dont give good material) are just adding to the reason to create more filth. I guess it doesnt help that I click too

No need to feel guilty for reading something, it's not even pennies/cents per click anyway.

The Tzeentch rumors started in Feb 2015 - one of them mentioning it was Hastings on Warseer - he did not provide further information but this:

No date, and no kit info but about a new LoC. Some say this is happening in 2015 - except Sad Panda here on DakkaDakka who said it is not. Hopefully he can give us more info soon. Next 40k release Tau in October? A starter campaign box Ravenguard vs Tau first?

Or a boardgame Deathwatch vs Genestealer Cults?

Ooo, new rumour, er what's this

Larry Vela

Maybe not then. That bloke would put out a guess (can't really call them rumours) of a new Space Marine release happening in the next 5 years and still be wrong on nearly all guesses he makes...

Oh, and cheers to Pretre for having the dedication to track these. At least we know when not to bite on fake rumours. Most of the time...

I will just reiterate I DO NOT KNOW THE TIMEFRAME of these releases, I've been out of the loop for some time. I can only assume that Lords of Wargaming have the Apr/May Admech correct (I'd heard April) but I've no idea of the schedule or indeed order of the other stuff.

No I'm pretty sure doing more advertisements would give GW more advertisements.

I'm sure he's thinking about the old "there's no such thing as bad publicity" adage.

Trouble is, spinning "this is gak" "how much?!!" "thats hideous" "what were they thinking" etc etc into something positive is a big ask!

The artwork of the Lord of change actually looks exactly as the current finecast version, exept the arm with the staff is tilted down.
Its just slightly bigger (or not as skinny, as if the picture was just drawn out wider).

Hmm, similar. You can almost imagine the slight scale increase and different pose giving you a really cool Lord of Change model. But wait, isn't there a different LoC model out there? One produced by Forge World?

Yeah, we can probably put that to rest. The picture has the distinctive headdress, the snakes wrapped around the end of the staff below the Tzeentch symbol, the same amulet on a chain around the neck. The only things that are different are the spikey bit on top of the staff missing, and the pose being different, and the latter is almost certainly to make a more interesting picture.
