That box art is pretty slick! I've been warped back to 1990 with a death grip around my NES controller.

I can't put into words my love for that art. I wish I knew which box my DS was in so I could play for FFTA.

No, our system isn't capable of dealing with that.

So could I purchase the PDF rules and be playing this evening? Or do I have to some how get ahold of some Miniature blister packs?

EDIT: So am I seeing correctly that on the Wargame Vaults site I can purchase all the AI cards for the miniatures? If so this just became a must have purchase

The Full Rulebook has unit profiles, and the PDF comes with the stat card pdf as well. You would just need a 1" Grid of some sort (RPG Map, SDE gameboard, download and print one), some D6s, and a couple of figs on square bases (or rounds that are 1", and have easy to determine facing).

If you don't like our figs but like the game and want an easy way to play with your Reaper/WHFB/SDE figs, you can grab the 'Stat Card Deck'. This is a print product that contains all of the stat cards from the core rulebook.

Yup, its fairly rudimentary AI Rules. You'll want both the AI Deck and the Miasma War book.

I need the Core rule book and I can purchase these stat cards?

http://www.wargamevault.com/product/128396/Endless-Fantasy-Tactics--Stat-Cards--Core-Rulebook

The AI deck is for solo play?

Would I also need Item Decks?

Thanks for the help!

Rulebook is all you really need, the stat cards just make things easier. Buying the Rulebook off of WGV gets you the card PDF included. You'd just need a 1" gridded play area then.

AI Decks are just for solo play. Item Decks add to the gameplay, but are not necessary.

Average party size in a full game is 5 models.

I like the look of the starter but why no dice? It seems like such a cheap addition, especially as I can see this appealing to people who don't play other tabletop games.

Also how fun is the game with only 2 characters per side? The problem I would see (having no idea of the rules) is that having lost one character there is then no way to win being outnumbered 2 to 1.

I really want this to be awesome, so tell me my worries are unfounded!

We figured that any place you would be getting the box from would have dice for sale as well, and the minimum orders on dice make it difficult to try and maintain stock.

As for the 2v2, it's not much of an issue. It generally makes it easier to get the basics down with few models, and quicker matches. Plus since there are no factions or party building limitations beyond points cost, you can easily consider this a single person starter set as well.

I downloaded your PDF, didn't come with Dice, was pretty disappointed. j/k

Here are my thoughts on the game:

Purchased the PDF's of your main book and the Miasma expansion, very pleased. Will most likely be purchasing physical cards for the characters and items, even though they are all provided in the books as well. Again, very happy to have everything in one book.

What appealed to me the most was I could use my own models with the provided stat cards for all the characters. I have alot of Warhammer Fantasy miniatures

Second most appealing part was rules! This was purchased with the intent to bond with my 5 year old daughter. Alot of what I play is far to complicated. I really enjoy how at the root of this game the mechanics are simple and easy to remember, hits are all 4/5/6 and defense is all 5/6, No diagonal movement or shooting. I feel I played a very fun game with my child while not even using the abilities of the characters. Game seemed like it will scale well past 2-3 models per side. When I have time next week I will be playing a full rules higher point game with friends. I cant stress enough though, I had fun playing simple move shoot with my daughter.

I do not have a board yet so I was only able to play on a flat surface, Looking forward to adding the rule set to elevation, there really seems to be alot of extra rules that make the game look very strategic. I would also like more items down the road! The campaign feature looks great and an added bonus if you have a core group of friends you play with regualarly. I also want a game board!! Im interested to see how high of elevation a board makes. Would like 4 board but would also not like to be beaten by my wife. So maybe just one board to start with and see how it paints up.

Perhaps if you lose your 2 Crystal model first, but from experience, I can tell you that a well played Knight can run roughshod over a Gel Warrior and a Dark Priest single handedly.

That's surprising, don't they usually have a big diorama setup when they actually come to Gen Con?
