Worst fan-base in sports regardless has got to be Philly.
But I think by far, the worst fans to deal with personally, are 49ers fans. Most Dallas fans that I know personally can take the jokes sent their way.

For as much gak I give to the Patriots/Brady/Bellicheck... I'd be lying to you if I wouldn't want Brady/Bellicheck on my chosen team. The 40whiners are one of the worst in my experience.

Hrumph.
As the resident Philly Fan, One, We Have Reasons! The Sports Press ALWAYS brings up the Santa thing, not allowing it to die. WE Know our teams and expect the best from them no matter how bad they are, and WE tell them about it.
Two, We do NOT sit idly by when they are playing like trash or just not show up. The Eagles have NEVER, not once had a game 'Blacked out' due to bad ticket sales, one of only a handful of teams that can make that claim. Hel, Arizona almost had a Playoff game blacked out, until they practically gave away tickets. Good, bad, indifferent, or basement those seats are filled. OH, and Weather Be Damned, Rain, Shine, Snow covering the seats.
Three, There have been fights and other rude behavior, but No one has ever been SHOT before, during, or after attending a game of any sort in Philly. No one has ever been pepper sprayed by a Philly fan while in the stands.
Four, Yeah, we are rude to a fault, and Yes, We Know and OWN it. Our teams play bad and we BOOO! Even if they are winning. Why? Because we know they can do better.
Five, Name one other team that even allows Tailgating at open practices and Training camp. Even when they are miles out of town in Lehigh, people go up there (About and hour or so) and tailgate the Training camp there. The Eagles even hold signing sessions for those fans that spend the day watching walkthrough drills and such.
Six, Philly is one of a very limited number of cities that can claim a NFL (Eagles), MLB(Phillies), NHL(Flyers), MLS(Union), and NBA(Sixers) team And with the possible exception of the Sixers(Recently), The stands are filled. Maybe not to capacity but rarely below 75%.
So Yeah, We Philly Fans are considered the "Worst".... Bet half of Dallas' or New England's fans know the names of the third string QB or anyone on the Practice Squad.

It wasn't 'meaningless' back then, but then I don't expect you to know much about NFL history. Outside what ESPN tells you...
Then, you may not know about The Ed Thorp Trophy Because the Patriots and the Cowboys never won one.

The Seahawks, Sounders and Mariners are right up there. Granted, there were a whole host of issues going on with the Sonics back in the day.... and "we've" never had an NHL team, so ya got us there... Or you could argue that we got you beat, because we've sold out every NHL game we've had
Honestly, only time I've ever really seen Safeco anywhere close to empty, it's been a mid-week, mid-afternoon game.... Ya know, that time of day when respectable people have things called jobs?? Ironically, I find true Mariners fans to be fething weird... they are so hopelessly optimistic about the season, you'd think it never rains up here

And really, who cares about what the Patriots and the Cowboys have compared to Eagles. Unless of course you're talking about Super Bowl rings, of which they have zero.

Philly fans are dirt bags but wouldn't have it any other way. I love it.
Something honest about it.
My friend is a season ticket holder to the Eagles, once in a blue moon I get to go with him. Watching the fans is as entertaining or more entertaining than the game.
If it is a blow and and the eagles are losing, you can count on entertainment from the fans.
Other fans just leave.
Eagles fans? Drink more, vomit on each other and throw stuff.
The guy in front of me sniffed his own vomit.

Manziel just seems to be a degenerate. I don't know his personal life, I'm not one to keep track of people's backgrounds, but if I recall correctly, and ESPN analyst said his dad is wealthy (from the oil industry) which he believes his upbringing shows in his behaviors. "Affluenza"

Basically, from what I've seen of the sporting pundits, the current "theory" is that from Pee-Wee football on, he's basically been encouraged as the superstar jock... Didn't pass that english class? Fire the teacher, and pass him. By the time he was at A&M, the coaches there pretty much had an untouchable, relatively uncoachable individual... but they had to sort of keep the long leash because dammit, "That Johnnie Football boy makes us rich!"... Finally, now that he's in the NFL, he's so far gone that not even Cleveland can help him.
It's kind of situations like this where I think ALL quarterbacks should go the route of Luck or Rodgers, where they spend a minimum of one season behind the veteran QB that they are "destined" to replace.

Gentlemen, this Dallas/Philly argument is boring.
Clinton was President the last time Dallas won a ring. Further, you're probably getting Johnny Football soon because Jerry Jones has a hard on for headlines, good or bad. Ha, ha. feth you!
Philly's history may show that they have played with more balls than Gianna Michaels, but they haven't won the big ring. Any other "Yeah, buts" are just "Yeah, buts." Shut it.
2016 will be the year of Houston dominance of the state of Texas, and the American Sportsingtons. The Astros will win the World Series and the Texans will repeat as Division Champs on the way to next February's big show.
Rock on.
Go 'Stros!

This isn't a Philly/Dallas argument in least bit. The Philly guy keeps bringing up Dallas for some reason (jealousy if I had to guess, which is odd because Dallas blows, too).
The only thing I'm arguing is that Philly and their fans are both terrible, which is pretty obvious given what's on display in this thread!

I'm a Steelers fan who now lives in the Philadelphia area.
And I'll say it -- having seen them up close, OVERALL I think Eagles fans get a bad rap. Oh, there's no doubt that they've earned a reputation. And I think that there are some fans that feel like they need to live up to that reputation, and that's what drives certain disgusting behaviors by some. But it's also true that Philly fan incidents get overpublicized just because that perception exists. Gak happens at stadiums everywhere. And the Linc is much tamer than the Vet ever was. The NFL is pricing out most of the worst apples.
Can Eagles fans be a PITA? Oh sure. Hard to find fans who crow more despite having won nothing. But there's plenty of obnoxiousness all up and down the Northeast corridor. The Giants and Jets fanbases have their fair shares of loudmouths, and the Pats fanbase includes some of the most boorish, obnoxious fans anywhere.
Eagles fans support their team well, despite the long history of heartbreaks, and better than plenty of other cities around the league. ESPECIALLY West Coast based teams and fans. You Seattle fans might get loud on Sundays, but the biggest NFL cities are intense ALL WEEK.
Of course, I'll take Steelers fans -- and probably Packers fans too -- over any of them.

I was in Green Bay for the Dallas/GB playoff game last year. For the most part, they were very polite, including the season ticket holders next to us. On the way out, there were a couple of drunks saying "Houston Who?" regarding my Houston Texans gear. For two of them, simply saying JJ Watt shut them up as he's a god in WI. One guy was so drunk, this buddies were steering him away, so I just ignored it.
Like Milwaukee fans, Green Bay fans can't hold their liquor. I've never seen someone projectile vomit 5' towards a trashcan until my first Brewers game!

Yeah, not sure where that's coming from.
One of my best friends is a Dallas fan, and I know a lot of 'realistic' and 'critical' New England fans too.
Much like the whole "Philly Fan" thing is overblown, maybe the biggest windbags just unfortunately get the most press?
In other words, I guess...generalizations are just bad form?

I'm married to a Dallas fan that is VERY critical of the GM, the QB, the owner, and sometimes the ginger coach.
Well being from Texas and living in NE for sometime... I'm not talking of "individuals" guess I should have more specific as not to discount a wife or friend. I'm referring to the media and the bulk of the fans. Philly media bashes the Eagles. The NFL network crowns the Cowboys every pre season. NE is like teflon, there's pictures of Brady walking on water, Belichek is the Messiah. You guys have to realize the three teams I mentioned are the crown jewels of the NFL. If not, well nothing I can do about it.
Try being a Ravens fan in the relative local area. We get no coverage good or bad... Nothing. Just Redskin wish listing and hand wringing.
