I was in an AC Moore and walked past their overpriced airbrushes. There was an ad on the display for a Renegade Crome airbrush, good for "...wargaming figures..." and sure enough, there was a pic of an Ultramarine being painted.

I wonder if AC Moore or airbrush distributor had permission to use the Space Marine.....

Ultra!!!!!!!!

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

The big time? Of a small hobby.. of an even smaller subset of that hobby (painting figures) and a method of painting that is in the minority (air brushing)..

C&D incoming in 3......2........1

Queue Alan Merrit talking about people "goobering" over GW products and not knowing anything about copyright and trademark...as head of IP.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

GW invented painting their miniatures. In a vacum, with no outside interference or references. The application of paint to a miniature is solidly a GW patent.

Whats that? You have to apply for patent protection? Son, We'll see what the court has to say 'bout that!

That's nothing, over here the TV channel Dave has a screen sting for one of their sponsors that features a Chaos Sorcerer that has dialogue!

Why would they need permission? They are selling an airbrush and they show it being used to paint a Space Marine... where is the infringement? As crazy as Alan Merrit is I can't see there being a problem here.

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.
