Hi,
Do UM Devastators firing Frag Missile blasts benefit from Devastator Doctrine? I don't have either rulebook on me, but my instinct says no because the Doc doesn't make them Twin-Linked.

There is a difference between twin linked and re roll to hit. Blast markers technically don't make a roll to hit so it is essentially wasted on blasts. Otherwise I would be taking a lot of ultra marines plasma cannons in sky-hammer formations. This is unfortunate - but you are better off taking LC or GC on your ultras.

My list is:
Calgar
Honor Guard x4- Chapter Banner, Pod
5 Vanguard- Power Weapons, Jump Packs
10 Tacs- C.Melta, Melta, MM, Pod
10 Tacs- C.Melta, Melta, MM, Pod
5 Tacs- Gravcannon, Rhino
5 Tacs- Gravcannon, Rhino
10 Assault Marines- Flamer x2, Jump Packs
5 Devs- Heavy Bolters
5 Devs- Lascannons
5 Devs- Missile Launchers
This list was built based upon the exact miniatures at my disposal.
I figured if I fight against opponents where Frag is more appropriate, I might as well drop them on infantry while a Doctrine is up *if* I could benefit from re-rolling the blasts, yaknow?
I think for me, this situation is more of a "Well, re-rolling to hit with my heavy bolters and lascannons in a turn is nice, so I might as well drop a bunch of re-rolling blasts on that infantry unit while the doctrine is going"

How did you roll the 1 on your To Hit roll with a Blast weapon in order to get the re-roll?

I'm talking about Devastators using frags with the Dev Doctrine so it's a straight re-roll to hit, isn't it? I'm pretty sure my Devs using Frag can't re-roll anything if Tactical Doc is up.

It doesn't say I have to do it, It says i have to have the ability to do it.

Thought it specified twin linked. Haven't looked at it in a LOONG time though.

I do not have my book on hand but I *think* I remember it saying something about how Blasts that re-roll To-Hit must re-roll the dice *and* the scatter die. But like I said I dont have my book so I am deferring to you fellas

Oh snap! I thought the Dev-doc was all failed, not just ones, my mistake.

It's all failed for Devs only
Scratch that- It's "Re-roll to Hit" for Devs and 1's for other UM who aren't Devs. My devs are the only one with missiles

Ok, then yes, you will unarguably be able to re-roll your scatter/distance dice. Also gets hot on PC.
