My vote is on the Leman Russ tank. This is the most hideous creation of the 41st Millennium. I can't justify buying them on how they look. I feel embarrassed putting that on the table. I can't think of anything that can be don't to it to make it look good.

Not old models from the 90's, those were obviously horrible looking models. I mean current generation models.

We talking recent? Taurox, Dreadknight, and the new AdMech googlebots take the cake for me.

Worst model currently sold as part of the game? Deffbuggy, Rrrrrrrrrragnar blackmane, the diologus, Mutilators, etc.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Taurox for sure. SM flyers are pretty lame too. But a special mention must be given to this :

This type of question is pretty unfair if you go back too far in time obviously. GW's quality has increased immeasurably over the years compared to the old days where everything was huge chunks of metal.

So for RECENT models my nominations would be:

Vehicles:
WINNER: Astra Militarum Taurox - The treads are wrong, the front grill is wrong, the weapon mounts are wrong. There's just nothing cool or good about this vehicle
HONORABLE MENTION: Space Wolves Stormfang Gunship - There is simply no way that even in the 41st Grimdark Millennium that thing is capable of flight. Not even in a 12 yr old's dream.

Infantry:
WINNER: Space Marines Centurions - If you were to tell me the concept is "A Space Marine wearing a supplementary suit of power armor" then I would not for the life of me picture something like this. The models don't look like they are capable of walking. They have huge weapons mounted to their arms, yet they still have "hands" which clearly are not capable of grabbing anything due to the weapons that are in the way.
HONORABLE MENTION: Ork Painboy - The pose is really bad. The sculpt on the head is horrible. The jawline is WAY too exaggerated even by the "Heroic" scale that GW uses.

Most of the new Cult Mechanicus stuff. I remember seeing all the Skitarii stuff and was blown back by it, how they looked and how well the balance between tech and cloth was hit. Then I saw the CM stuff, and I remember thinking "... That's it?"- The models doesn't really seem to fit together, and each unit has their own problems... The big things are not mechanical enough, and have a downright goofy design, the Electro Priests all squat a bit too much for my liking, the treadheads are just a hunk of detail with no distinguishing features, and the Magos is just so cartoony I can't take it seriously.

Also, Crisis Suits. Love what they represent, hate the models.

Nah, the Mechanius is great. They're supposed to look like things out of science fiction from the late 1800s to early 1930s.

The Mechanicus' whole feel is end of the 19th century/early 20th. Hence all the chemical weapons. Hell radium is a reference to John Carter of Mars!

I don't mind the dreadnight or the Taurox. Ive seen some cool Taurox conversions with tires.

I still cant stand the Leman Russ, its a knock off of a first world war tank design...in the 41st millennium. it doesn't scream sci-fi to me. it doesn't even scream historical modeling to me.

Character - Abaddon, he has no arms for feths sake.

Generally - GW Crisis suits, boy they look bad.

Special mention - MUTILATORS.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Gorka/Morkanaut is the worst Ork model with its unorky build (looks too machined and not enough ramshackle), weird arm and leg placement, train snowplow looking skirt (and when it opens it looks even more horrible), and ugly head. Bad in game rules and the fact that it cost $10 less than the infinitely more awesome Stompa model which dwarfs the Derpanauts.

As Murrdox mentioned the new Painboy looks terrible and has an ugly head sculpt.

For the Orks I'm going to agree with Nauts being the worst. In that same sense Vankraken mentioned. They seem too fresh from a line factory rather then a cobbled together ramshackle vehicle that Orks make. I also want to see our Deffkoptas updated. They be too old now.

For relatively recent releases, Dreadknight and Centurions are definitely my choice.

Logan's space sled gets runner-up for stupid (despite being at least half-decently executed).

Honorable mentions go to Stormfang and most of the AM line, mostly 'cause FW did it right and then GW needed to make stupid versions of the same things.

And there we go, thread done. Not even Nagash can top that. This is one of the worst models that GW has ever envisioned. Not only is it an absurd concept, but its execution is comical as well. It just doesn't work on any level. It's so bad, it wouldn't even work on the cover of a metal album.

Okay I'm going to defend Santa. Watch out.

I don't think this is a good example of "worst model". I think it's actually a really WELL DONE model. Only the CONCEPT of the model is totally ridiculous. It's sort of like the Dreadknight. Yes, the concept is completely stupid. It's a Space Marine wearing some kind of huge exo-skeleton. But the model itself is pretty good quality for what it is. Now take Centurions for example though. The model just doesn't work. It doesn't look like it can even walk or move its arms. It has "hands" but clearly would not be able to pick anything up. The included heads look goofy. That's just bad design.

Now let's look at Santa.

It's a chariot pulled by space wolves. Yes, the concept is crazy and should never have been approved.

But look at the MODEL!

The Chariot is pretty cool. There's lots of relief molding. Lots of added detail like the shields on the side of the chariot, giving it a fun Norse feel. You've got the Wolf reliefs that look cool.
Logan himself looks awesome. Check out all the details on the shoulderpads, the cape flowing behind him, the facial expression, his beard, his axe. He looks great!
Look at the wolves. What cool poses! They're literally leaping off the base, and look really dynamic. I'll give you some goofy points because the actual harness for the wolves securing them to the chariot doesn't look like it would really work. I think a dog-sled type harness for the wolves would have worked better than this odd thing they came up with.

So Logan Grimnar? I would nominate for most ridiculous model concept. But as a model, it's actually REALLY well done.
