Indeed (even though we don't know anything about her...).

It most certainly is not. Silver? So lame. It should look like all the other clones instead of being a snow flake leader. I heard it's an alien which makes it worse.

Its a her apparently. Doesn't change anything, still dumb looking as hell. Eye sore to me.

Sorry my mistake.

It should look like all the other troopers. I would accept the grey officer uniform at most. But silver armour is just manky.

I don't hate the character (that's silly haven't even seen her on screen yet) but I do find the silver color a big gaudy. Fortunately she has the kick ass cape to make up for it

It looks like C3-PO got some cheap surgery to look intimidating, then tried to cover it up with a large piece of cloth.

Anyways... I was talking about the cool dudes dressed in black.

Yes, they were shown off at Celebration back in May:

Yiss. This is what Star Wars has been missing...flame thrower troopers. So simple.

All they need now are chainswords....

Would also seem somewhat harder to deflect with a lightsaber...

Didn't vader deflect Laser Rounds from his open palm?

If you can push people over etc then you can surely push burning liquid away as well. Flame throwers are probably pretty dangerous around Jedi really. I would not stand near the Flame Troopers at all.

It's sad, but these days that line always just reminds me of the old Star Wars Pants meme, and so my hindbrain immediately responds with 'I find your lack of pants disturbing...'

No he just blocked the shots and used the Force to pull the pistol out of Han's hand. Some pros to being more machine than man.

How did he block them though? It certainly looked like he used the force since his hand wasn't destroyed etc.

Regardless if you can use the force to push stuff around then burning liquid shouldn't be an issue provided you see it coming etc. Which by the looks of it isn't hard for a Jedi.

Luke took a blaster bolt on his robotic hand and it didn't really seem to affect it.

The movies never explain it, but I always took it as a force thing rather than just blocking them with his robot hand. The EU turned it into a force power that was (IIRC) fairly rare.

Having said that, it was the robot hand (although you don't find that out until the next movie...). So who knows?

Apparently bionic hands are made of sterner stuff than droids or stormtrooper "armor".

When Luke got shot it left a horrible burn on his hand he needed to fix. This was not the same when Vader got shot at.

Thats how I viewed it anyway.

It did visibly damage the hand though. Something that we didn't see happen to Vader's oven mitts...er gloves.

I would guess its probably a combination of enhanced durability from the robotics + Vader absorbing the excess energy with the force.
