Of course none of that matters because myself, D, Peregrine, and a couple of others has explained in length why it's a poor argument and offered logical counterpoint to every piece of poor criticism against the character.
But yeah, not only are your probably going to keep beating that dead horse, but now your the victim. This keeps getting better and better!

No, not really. But again, according to that very same logic, Luke understanding R2-D2 is a major and crucial plothole. Which, really, I think anyone can agree is simply not the case.
There's droids everywhere though, plus he interacts with R2, like he's handled an astromech before, leading to the "why's this jammed in here?" comment, which leads to them going to see Obi-Wan. Seems pretty crucial to me Automatically Appended Next Post: d-usa wrote: Breotan wrote: d-usa wrote:Did she say "what's this? What's a Wookie? Why is he grunting?" in the movie?
I must have missed that "fact".
How did she learn to "Kenobi" that guard when she was strapped to the chair? Do they really teach toddlers that in Jedi pre-school?
-Possibly in Pre-J or Jedigarden
-Possibly from daddy
-Possibly from the Jedi legends she had heard
-Possibly from the Jedi doing the exact same thing to her in a scene in the same movie
Ah so speculating she's was in a Jedi academy is fine, but speculating she hasn't seen/ heard a wookie before isn't? Gotcha.

You can speculate, and just like you can speculate that Luke has seen an astromech droid based on the way he acts people can speculate that she has seen a Wookie before based on the way she acts.
It's almost as if the people making this movie included scenes that make you think "who is she" instead of putting "this movie is about Rey who was abandoned by X on Y because Z and now we see how she finds Luke who is [relationship]". Automatically Appended Next Post: Edit: and even if we want to go as simple as possible with the Kenobing thing:
1) Bad guy tries to Kenobi her
2) She can resist it
3) She does the Kenobi on someone else
4) How did she know that Kenobing is a thing?!?!

Just rewatched it and some things were really glaring.
- Bastila Shan, I mean, Rey was a horrible Mary Sue. I mean, really, come on. At least have some sort of a character flaw.
- Speaking of the KotOR references, the reason Kylo Ren's design was the best was probably because he's almost completely Revan.
- Also, did you know who Kylo's Dad is? Because every other character seems to be need to mention it every five minutes. Did you know who Kylo Ren's Dad is?
- Why does Finn not speak with an Imperial (ie British) accent? Literally every other person in the First Order does and we can see he was raised by the First Order from birth.
- Why does Rey speak with an Imperial accent? Probably because she's Snoke's daughter.
- As others have mentioned, the fact Finn seems like he was press ganged rather than raised as an indoctrinated member of the First Order is a huge plot hole. He could've just been a guy from Tattooine Jakku and not had the whole inconsistency and moral problems associated with the fact they blew up a PLANET with god knows how many innocents on it. I mean, Christ, they probably killed more people than the First Order did in their bombardment of several planets.
- Basically, Finn is the new trilogy's Jar Jar.
Other than that, it was a pretty good film.

The best part is that every single bit of annoying bs criticism of Rey that has been floated around is addressed in the film so there is no real need to keep arguing about it, though I'm sure people will keep going on about it so here you go:

Which is not good screen writing. In fact, it's pretty firmly in the category of awful screen writing.

So you'd rather have Snoke leave out the important fact that Rey is now with Rens dad when sending Ren after her? Sounds like a really dumb move to send him into a situation like that unprepared.
Or would you rather that Han not mention to Leia that he saw his son? Because that would be even worse.

"Han Solo is with them. He is strong."
"I am stronger, Wise Master."
"He will be your greatest challenge yet."
"I am ready."
That's it. There we go. Then later on we reveal that it's his Dad and the conversation earlier becomes foreshadowing.

"OH, MY DAD? HAN SOLO, MY DAD, IS WITH THEM?"
"YEP, HAN SOLO, YOUR DAD, IS WITH THEM. CAN YOU BEAT HIM?"

Bowcasters are meant to be too big for humans to use, anyway. The recoil is meant to fling the user away if they're not Wookiee sized. But feth continuity, right?

I could remind you of the scene where she talks to Han and specifically tells him that she has worked on the Falcon before and specifically mentions that she was with the new owner of the ship when he made the modifications.
But that would probably just be me defending the flies landing on JJ's poop.

Yeah, the working on the Falcon is mentioned. She's talking about something that makes the hyperdrive warm up slower and the stolen journey of the falcon.
Would it have been so hard to add a line about the rest of the list though, that's all I wanted, just like the line bulls eyeing line, is enough for me in ANH.
As I said, the scavenger that captures BB-8 could be a wookie, problem solved there, throw in a scene about her trying to move something for fun, and have it wobble as they leave to go somewhere else (basically the Magneto scene with the chess piece).

Or perhaps she did know about the upper gun but it was damaged or otherwise inoperable? I don't think we ever see it fire in the film.
Really? She knows all the ins and outs about the hyper drive but failed to spot the huge blasters on the roof? Don't be silly.

No need to go down this road, it's just a film after all.
As I recall, they've just been tractored beamed by Han, and he asks where they got it (while they're squeeming about being on the falcon, she says so and so the junk dealer got it from, these brothers, who stole it from the guy who stole it from Han. and she mentions about having worked on it at the behest of the Junk dealer, and not agreeing with the installation of the mcguffin.

That's not a reaction at criticism of the movie, it's a reaction of you accusing them of fanboyism and making stuff up. And you're simply wrong about this, no matter how hostile you want to get. The movie makes it very clear that Rey had been around for some of the modifications to the Falcon. Which really shouldn't be controversial given that she's a scavenger and the ship is sitting in "her" scrapyard.
