He also fires it in The Empire Strikes Back at the mynocks when they're in the space slug.

Anyway, I was told that the next Star Wars movie will be between 3 and 4? What's with that?
In between each of the 'Episode' movies, they're doing one-shot stories. The first is Rogue One, following the covert rebel group who went after the original Death Star plans.

Rogue One is a spin off about the spies who stole the plans to the first Death Star, thereby enabling the raid that destroyed it. Ironically though, I recall there being a line in Ep4 ...
"many Bothans died to bring us these plans".
This is the cast for Rogue One.
Spoiler:
This is a Bothan.
Spoiler:
Also, Rogue One has Alan Tudyk (Firefly) and Mads Mikkelson (Hannibal!).

Mon Mothma's Bothan's line is from Return of the Jedi, not Star Wars.

I know there are lots of theories about Rey's parentage but one that I haven't seen is her being Han Solo's daughter... but not Leia's. Personally, I would prefer that she is not related to any of the old characters but I admit it would be interesting.

Nope, they've always been red.
I am pretty sure they are green when Chewie shoots down the fleeing scout trooper on Endor.

They're red. Loki posted a link to a video of that scene...

Nope.
He uses his bowcaster twice in the original trilogy: in the mouth of the space slug when he shoots at the mynocks and on Endor when he shoots at the speeder. Both times it's red.

If she had been Han's daughter, and he had left her on Jakku, he surely would have been asking questions when he came across a girl from Jakku who looks around the right age...

Hrmmph. I'm gonna have to rewatch my copy. I could have sworn they were green.

Make no mistake, I don't thing that she's Han's daughter. It's just a theory I haven't seen anyone posit yet that I find interesting. Though, I do think it's more credible than her being Han and Leia's daughter.
I think Han knew more about Rey than he admitted to anyone in the film. To me, leaving a kid on a desert planet with a bunch of low-lifes is a Han thing to do, especially if he is running away from all of the bad gak happening with Ben.

I know that there there are a lot of handguns that pack a lot of heat, but I may never really appreciate them until I actually fire one of myself. I know "real life" logic doesn't always translate into movie logic, but maybe it's something like that?
Han fires Chewie's bowcaster in the freighter scene with the Rathrars (or however you spell it) of the same movie before the scene where he asks to use it.

That's pretty pathetic for an organization that builds Starkilllers. Even the Executor wasn't a one-off, and that ship was about 100 times more massive than the Resurgence. Heck, the FO could have bought a dozen capital ships with a rounding error of Starkiller Base's budget.
"I have bad news sir...after building Starkiller Base, we only have the resources for a single Star Destroyer for you to fly around in. I guess with no orbital defences, we're just going to have to hope noone tries to assault the base, because that would be bad. Though it'll probably never happen."
Also, I swear to God that Phasma is a secret spy for Leia. Because that's the only thing that makes up for how crappy an elite Captain she is. First she passes Finn with flying colors after Jakku, and then she simply caves and drops the shields on the base.

Sorry storm trooper we don't have money to upgrade your armor either... The death star worked so well twice for the empire the NO figured why not try it a third time

She is almost entirely to blame for the Empires failures in this movie. Next movie the Empire should hang her as an example at one of their fascist rallies.

Just a note, Ren is 30 years old (the actor is 31). Rey is teenager at 19 (actress is 23).
The speculation is that something happened when Ren was 14- the same age that his grandfather built his first saber and became a padawan.
It's one reason Rey directly defeating Ren is a terrible pacing choice- there's nowhere to go that builds tension between the two. Rey has already demonstrated her natural abilities put her firmly ahead of Ren, in terms of force powers (mental probing and telekinesis) and in terms of saber skills. Both are now set for some training, but where Ren is just completing his, Rey is only just beginning. He's got a small amount left to go while she's got everything. She will improve far more than he will simply because she has more to improve.
The bad guys are supposed to be threats to the heroes. Right now the bad guy is playing catch up.
Everyone keeps just glancing over the fact that Ren was literally shot by a bowcaster five minutes before that fight. Throughout the entire movie they keep hinting at how powerful Chewie's crossbow is, including the shot in Starkiller Base when it sends a trooper flying across the hallway and the scene where it blows up two troopers at once outside Maz's place. Ren took a direct shot to the stomach. And then, Finn lands a solid light-saber hit on Ren's light-saber arm.
And Rey had just been hurled twenty feet into the air, slammed into a tree, and dropped to the ground. She wasn't exactly unscathed in their fight either.

While true, Ben had also just murdered his father, so he was fairly emotionally fethed up at that point, and had just been wounded a second time. And he won both fights. The reason he got whacked by her was he got cocky and tried to turn her. He was in a good position to finish her off, then also finish off Finn, if he didn't try to turn her.

Yeah, that's a big problem. They pretty much already ruined the character in Ep VII as Phasma looks badass, but is shown to be a total pushover.
This is quite interesting, a list of some scenes hinted at in the novel and the art book (which I really must get at some point) that didn't make the final cut.
Relevant to the Rey/Ren duel discussion is a mention that Snoke in the book uses the force to tempt Rey into finishing Ren off before the ground splits, just as Palpatine did with Anakin and then Luke in Revenge and Return respectively. So with that in mind, I guess that Rey technically 'won' the fight, but everything may still have been going as planned for Snoke, even if Ren isn't in on the plan, just as Dooku had no inkling that Palpatine intended to replace him with Anakin.
I definitely think we'll see some attempt to turn Rey in the subsequent films, especially if she does turn out to be a Skywalker... They have something of a family history in that department....

How could there be clones anymore? Does Kamino even still exist? Are the cloning facilities intact?
I have no idea if its canon, but the Star Wars Battlefront 2 game had Darth Vader lead the 501st Stormtrooper legion (clones) to crush a Kaminoan rebellion of clone troopers reprogrammed to be loyal to Kamino, not the Chancellor. My assumption was that the facilities were destroyed.
