@aov - cheers laddie. Black armour is all done now for him and the salamander guy. I used the same red method as I use for the SH termies. I prefer the deep red look as not a fan of the bright 'look at me, I'm faaaabulous!!!' red usually seen. Similarity, went with the darker FW 30k green for salamander dude. Again prefer darker tones than candy ones.
Really am loving painting these deathwatch figs. Sculpts and casting really is top notch.

@para - super happy with those bases from ehhhmm, ehhhhh ...... Whichever company maưe them!!!! Have hem for all the DW:O figs save the white scar. As they don't do an oval bike base. Should be hard to make my own though. Really nic bases and the casting is flawless. Good variety of different types as well. Damn GW and their constant assault of new awesomeness!!!! It's just As well getting FW stuff sent over here is so cost prohibitive otherwise I'd be REAL trouble!!! Pity my poor mother having to lug a warhound over with here come December!!!!!

Your updated pictures for lark and the nurse really make them shine. Your marbling on lark's base had escaped my attention the first time I saw him, it's really nicely done.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Terminators look fantastic also, and I love seeing those early wip shots of the figure you're working on currently.

Cheers Tom that Lark base was a bit of a labour of love; trying to bring a scene/story from the books to life. Was really happy how the marble floor turned out. Actually I need to write that stuff down so I don't forget what the hell I actually did!!!
Termies are coming along - I actually quite like doing those overblinged guys. I as takin with TP and laughing that for someone who doesn't really like the BAngles, I do seem to be painting a lot of them these days!!!! Still it's all good.
Next month's planned stuff is gonna be a lotta fun - ordo machinum inquisitor plus his retinue looking forward to that

Smart thinking Nerdy. I already have a sealed DV boxed set and a box of skyweavers to shift plus most of the eldar stuff from death masque. Need to stop hoarding and get rid of stuff I'm not going to use/paint

Just popping in to say you're doing a great job photography-wise. So important if you're showing your paintingz on the web! (you already get enough compliments on the actual painting, right? )

Lol. Cheers Sgt. Actually the photo side of things is driving me a bit nuts at the mo. Too much glare, even with filters and light is. Ahh - I'll get it sorted eventually

I'm convinced exercise is bad for me, whenever I do it I end up feeling it the next day.

Nice progress on the Death Watch dudes.

Cheers EDC. I like running and biking but at theminute over here, unless you want to end up with an IV drip in your arm in the A&E ward, running is out till the autumn. So I figured I'd exercise at home. Some Nike app I have on my ipad.......goddamn squats. And I don't mean the extinct little beardy weirdos!!!! Anyways - back to the DW.!!! Delassio WILL be finished today.......

I'd love to hear about how/with what you did that great looking jump pack.

It's pretty straightforward - just micro layering up though the engine well. Based with iron breaker then Abaddon/Kantor blue mix to set the tone. The just layer up Kantor blue > Kantor/altdorf guard blue > altdorf blue > altdorf/fenris > fenris > a few dots of white scar at the end. Takes about an hour I guess but looks pretty ok

Nurse, Lark, SH Termies, and DW minis looking great. The jump pack effect is superb. I have taken a screenshot to try when I come to mine. I think that's the most effective jump pack effect I've ever seen. Congrats!

Thx I_F.
Just make sure you keep your paints thin and underloaded. Very little paint on the brush. Oh - watch your pull/push technique. Makes a big difference. Pull the paint into where will be the highest point of highlight.

I've never given this much thought but now that you mention it that makes perfect sense. The direction you pull your brush in is very important. Thanks for the tips, those are really helpful and something to be very cognisant of in my future projects.

Progress on Bran the man. 'Excuse the overexposed photos. Coming along nicely. Still need to highlight all the jade golds and other metals. And fix the eyes. Yellow lenses was a stupid idea. Will do the brazier next. Sitting here staring at it thinking how to do smokey flames. Just gonna wing it and hope for the best
