Oohhhh - flames are fun!!

Very nice flames. I've always struggled with a good way to do flames, how did you achieve this look if you don't mind my asking?

Branatar is coming along very nicely. Great work with the flames.

@I_F - flames were much easier than I thought they'd be. Nothing but glazes. Start from a pure white basecoat and then build up glazes from yellow to orange to red and then a tiny bit of black on the tips.

I haven't forgotten about your Bolt Pistol, by the way - embarrassingly I haven't been able to find one yet, and I've been getting into my marine parts and bits and bobs. I thought I had tons of them lying around, but apparently most are attached to hands. I'm also finding bolters harder to come by than expected (using those myself atm, and damn!)

Just glazes?! Wow that's awesome to hear. I suppose I'll be expanding upon my painting inventory on my next trip into the store. Thanks again for the tips, yet another one for my repertoire.

Ah. I used the citadel shades as glazes. First glazed with cass yellow, next a mix of cass yellow and whatever the red shade is called then red on its own and finally nuln oil. Each glaze had a little lahmian medium mixed in and was given 2 layers. Make sure there isn't mucho your brush or it floods the area.

Lol. I'm usually not that bottherdd about SMs but really quite enjoying these DW fellas!! Really fun to paint. Think I'll do the biker lad next. White Scars are a tidy bunch. I'll need to build up his base though as I don't have a bike base from the range of bases I'm using as they don't make one. Shouldn't be a problem. GW emailed me at five past midnight (GMT) to say my copy of death masque is now on its way.
Gonna need to start selling some surplus stuff off though. Taking up space

You think you will do a death watch army jan? I think it would suit you especially the flier, though I will probably say the same thing when the custodes come out. Mainly because I want to see you paint them

The custodes.....id maybe paint one if I could get my hands on one but won't be buying any of the 30k boxed sets like the prospero set that's supposed to be coming. I like reading about the Hersey but really don't like the early marks of armour so won't be collecting any 30k esp a box half full of space corgis!! Curious what the sisters of silence will look like though.

I don't know what he used, but if I want that effect I usually glaze it with a little Guilliman Blue.

Cheers guys! Actually the tints on the silver arms aren't even Citadel! The blue on top is a very thinned glaze of Vallejo steel blue and the slightly brown reelection tint on the underside is a super thin glaze of Vallejo armour brown. My only two Vallejo paints - lol

Sweet little spot of painting done this afternoon - 4 hours straight while watching mi_choi live stream over on twitch. Boom - suddenly 4 hours gone by and had a ton done on Mr. Deadness here. Kept him a little darker than the rest of the termies as he's been sitting on the 'golden throne' there for a while so will make him look older and dirtier as we go along. Happy enough with how the Reds came out though

Looking good. Nice idea using a darker red to try and capture the fact that he may have been there a while.

Any thoughts on adding spider webs or something to really emphasis that? (no idea how you'd actually do it, just a thought that popped into my head)

Totally chuffed this morning as the results for the 'Eavier Metal group's (over on FB) 'Eadbanger II painting competition are in. I entered in 4 categories - Unit/Warband (my Sicarian Rustalkers), Monsters/Armour (Thanatar Siege Automata), Vignette/Diorama (Larkin & the Angel) and Single Figure Showcase (The Nurse). I got 3 honourable mentions and this lovely lady took 2nd place in the showcase category.


So happy. Even my dog is ecstatic and jumping around but then again she does that all the time anyways

Congrats on the honours and wins! Your nurse is fantastic and definitively deserving of her award!

That termie looks well aged and fits the bill nicely for a long forgotten fallen brother. Bonus points for being my favourite type of terminator: a dead one.
