I am happy there are no corpses on the base ... I am really fed up investing too much time into painting these huge and overly detailed bases (e.g. Perturabo or Sigismund).

Reports have said that FW is getting more strategic with their releases, instead of simply releasing stuff as soon as it's ready for sale. I think we can look forward to a lot of new stuff alongside Inferno.

Russ is nice, I don't think that's a great angle for the picture (is that in the photographer's job description, "must be able to show off product to worst advantage"?), but he looks pretty good.

The TS transfers, though... must have those.

Guess I need to drop another order, earlier than I'd expected.

I think the angle is good in some respects, but it doesn't show off all the detail across the chest armor. Which is amazing.

He has a sword AND an axe. What more could you possibly ask FW for?

Clearly they misunderstood, people want to pay for miniatures and not bases. Wolves are miniatures... not bases.

I agree about the scale thing. Something just isn't selling me on this one.

I'd like to see it next to something else or more pictures at different angles.

It looks good, it just doesn't make me go: "Holy crap!"

You'll still be able to buy them. I don't think it was that FW were worried about the base, I think they were worried that the price of Russ and the Wolves would be too much, so they released them separately. That way there might be people who just want Russ or just want the Wolves who can get whichever.

Taste is a weird thing. This is comfortably my favourite
primarch so far. The pose looks believable and not like someone posing for a painting. The weapons look cool but not out of scale to the mini.The detail on the armour looks incredible.

Anyone have any experience with the House Terryn Knight upgrades from FW? Thinking about buying the kit for my Paladin, but it comes to about 40 CDN, which is a fair bit to shell out.

Yeah, as much as I dislike the Wolves, this is definitely up there on the favorite list.

Still one of the best Primarch models released, imo. Crazy basing is optional for gaming use. I would just use that as scenery.

Perturabos base is still crazy with just the gaming base:

How about it, I bloody hate Space Wolves and I love that mini, it's a beautiful sculpt.

The only way I'd buy it is to do a Night of the Wolf scene with Russ face down in the dust and mighty Angron standing over him.

But I think this is the best primarch model yet. Er...after Angron, of course.

Overall I like Leman Russ, but I need to see more angles. From the angle they've shown his chin looks like it's implanted in his shoulder and the proportions look odd.

That wasn't what I meant. I meant you can just cut him off that busted Cerastus and put him on a gaming sized base that is themed with your army.

I do. Not worth it, imo. The decals look overall way better to me.

He looks awesome. Really like the axe/sword combo, makes him look so much better than just a sword like we've seen in previous artwork.

Instantly my first Primarch purchase, now to bring on Magnus. Do you think it will make a diarama with the two of them?

They have chosen a Prospero themed base, so I think it is looking likely.

It does seem a bit odd not to put the two wolves up for order at the same time as the Primarch, even if not as part of the same set.
