They also had the weapon upgrade kits for the Ultramarines, Emperor's Children, Death Guard and something else on display (can't remember what the fourth one was, sorreh!), along with assault cannons for Cataphractii pattern terminator armour.

There were also a pair of unpainted Tu'na suits on display, but as far as I could tell, nothing new about those. Boring!

Was the 4th one Chainglaives for Night Lords? They were shown with the others before I think.

Yes! That's the one.

I remember it being something curved on a stick with teeth on it.

Don't forget more Blood Bowl previews

Plenty of cool thing. Just because there's no new Tau stuff, doesn't mean it isn't cool.
And honestly Tau really don't need any new stuff beyond a new book from FW to add new units and make the Ta'unar balanced and a new book from GW to make everything (ie. Riptide, mega-detachment, etc) more balanced and fun to play against.

So they went with the Viking king from the '13th warrior' look for Russ, not a bad look, but I would have thought he be more hairy.

Does anyone else think the stormbird cargo bay is too narrow, I mean there is like 6 inches from the sides after a rhino drives in, how do the passengers get in or out?

In other news, Inferno is at least another 12 weeks out, most likely even more. Apparently Alan Bligh is still putting the final touches (I'd assume formatting and maybe another round or two of proofreading), and it usually takes 12 weeks between pens down and release for FW's books.

FW actually proofread...?

To be fair, they are generally better at it nowadays, although IA13 bucked the trend.

Still took 'em three goes to actually include the Rad-Phage rule in the same book as any of the weapons that use the rule….

So we might get the Prospero box set and Russ before we get a sniff of any rules?

Terrible planning there.

The 30k rules for Custodes will be in the next White Dwarf issue. Releasing the Inferno book at a later date gives the boardgame its room, the release plan looked very crowded already. Everyone would like to get releases as early as possible but this allows people to buy it step by step and not being flooded by four armies at once - it isnt only about Marines anymore, Custodes and Sisters are getting a new range of miniatures including vehicles according to FW. Both sales- and hobbywise it isn't a bad thing to spread releases over a longer time. Let's see if there will be further rules as PDFs or in WD accompanying the miniatures.

It's a model. I imagine if they made it bigger, it would cause some problems.

In reality, I imagine there would be a lot more room.

As is, the Stormbird is already a big and impractical model, which while a whole lot sturdier and easier to assemble than their previous attempts at flyers, is still quite useless gamewise due to its size and dimension.

OMFG NEED/WANT.

I love the homage to the cerastus-knight acheron in the band going across the armour plates on the top middle of the tracks and the similar look of the other panels to Titan Armour plate (particularly the warhound leg-armour)

And they seem to have painted it in my colours too!
They didn't need to try that hard; but i'm getting two now...

Agh, too beautiful. Absolutely loving the Loewy-esque decor on it. Wouldn't look out of place is some kind of Space-(National Socialist) invasion fleet.
But instead of grey Axis colours, I'll be tidying mine up in warplock'd Waagh Flesh and chrome, maybe some vegetable patch camoflague...

HALLELUJAH! A year later and finally at the printers. Now I think I can comfortably start building the army, as by the time they release I should be at the decal stage. Sweeeeeeet!

Thanks for the update. Now I will whine about it much less!

That vehicle is lovely- just so blocky and menacing. Looks like it could resist a nuke.

To be fair, that's a problem with all Super Heavy Flyers, not just the Stormbird. They easily rank highest on the "most difficult to use in a game" and "most difficult to transport" categories as an overall unit type. At least the Stormbird isn't a freaking Manta

Yeah, ugh, trying to transport and use the Marauder is a pain. That one model takes up more transport space than the rest of my army combined.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Weapon upgrades for EC and DG?

I thought we had heard that the Heavy Rail Cannon Array for the Ta'unar was getting released at this event? Is that not so?
