Will do, he is 50 NZD which is roughly 31USD however it is likely you will pay a fair bit less than that.

The price is probably a big reason why I won't do the cello to be honest. If I can get one cheaply I will.

The horn blower is definitely the worst of the already not great sigmarine range.

Please let this be the last release they get. I want to see other things!

The prices are absurd.

50AUD for a standard bearer guy?

352 AUD for the 7 slightly fancier than normal warriors?
That's insane!

Got the Stormcast eternals codex. I must say I'm highly disappointed in it. I was expecting atleast some named characters with varied abilities to their generic counterparts.

A big waste of money overall, so avoid it if you can

man, Standard bearer and musician, what once came as standard in a box with a unit is now $55 USD for 2 models. So if I had money pouring our of my ass, I would need to spend $55 extra ontop of a $50 box of Liberators or Paladins. So now a real unit is $100???

Worst part about this release, I cant sell my ogres on ebay to save my life...

These aren't a "standard bearer and musician" in the Warhammer Fantasy sense. Theyre also pretty huge models, like all other Stormcast. They're more like heroes and you probably won't have more than one in your army. So although I agree it's expensive, it's not really comparable.

These guys don't go in a unit.

Think of a Battle Standard Bearer and a generic Hero with some kind of Magic Item described as an instrument.
That's what these two models are, since Stormcast Eternals do not have Musicians/Standard Bearers unlike the Khorne Bloodbound's units which still have Standard Bearers and Musicians.

Really, it's *6* heroes (not 7) -- all of the non-starter box heroes. Plus one doggie, though a very good doggie. What I really want is a box of 3 doggies.

Practically, though, I don't think many people play with 6 hero keywords, so this is more for completionists than anything (you also get to of the Azyros boxes, so that you can build both Azyros and Venator) .

Again, however... it's futile comparing the price of character models with troop models.

This

It's absurd that the parts for these guys werent already included in the liberator box. These guys looks like regular stormcast models, only with a banner and a trumpet. Most boring release of what has turned out to be two months of pure boringness. It seems that they made everything in their power to insure that AOS fail. And by the way the sales are going, that's what will happen, and this fiasco will be a thing of the past in less than 2 years.

I wonder if they retained Kirby's wife's consultancy to determine the best way to destroy all the momentum the release of a brand new game and range of models should generate?

I can't help but wonder the effect this release has ultimately had both on the 40K base with months of nothing to stimulate interest and the casual AOS player who, unless they were into Sigmarines, has had nothing to draw them in further.

I think it's split pretty evenly between Khorne Bloodbound and Stormcast Eternals since the release of AoS. A month per faction isn't unprecedented, and one of these factions is brand new to boot.

Edit: After a quick look at their site, it's not really an even split. But still, two factions, one of which is new, plus a bunch of scenery.

My point remains, it would likely have been a much better approach to give every faction something to get excited in the aftermath of the core game's release, rather than focus on a very narrow segment. The specific breakdown of the releases isn't particularly relevant to that. Plus, as a casual observer, regardless of the actual models released, it seems like it's been all Sigmarines all the time, but that's largely probably because they all look the same to me.

They needed to flesh out the Stormcast, so the only way to squeeze in both them and the other factions would have been to accelerate the release schedule. Do they actually have the resources to do that? I don't know, and I don't know if it would've been better either. This way at least they have the core releases for the Stormcast out of the way and can now focus on piecemeal updating of the other factions. From your comments it seems you don't particularly like the Stormcast or the Bloodbound, but the point remains that they have released models for two factions.

Well, assuming we are not talking about GW here, conceivably they could have added in stuff for existing (but changed) factions to the release schedule to get people excited. Each month they could have released a new hero or unit for a handful of the factions in addition to one or two Sigmarine things. So it might look like this:

June:
Sigmarine Box
Starter set
Skaven, Ork, Elf hero

July:
Shooty Sigmarines
Chaos mens
Chaos, Undead, Dwarf hero

August:
Sigmarine gold mens
Specialty hero (Dedicated chaos god heroes or something)
Some units for some races

September:
Rest of Sigmarine stuff
Other things

Sprinkle in terrain releases and you still have the 5-7 items released per month they are targeting.
But how do you maintain excitement regarding Sigmarines? SHOW US PICTURES OF WHAT IS COMING OUT FOR THE NEXT 3-5 MONTHS. Tell us what is coming, then release it over time. Of course, as stated, this requires GW not being GW. But a smart company would not stop releasing things for armies people already own and want, even if the new releases take those armies in very different directions, just because they want to release some new toys for a new army.

That would've been cool, but the box set was released on July 11th. So it's only been two months, not four. I think we're very likely to see other factions in the next two months, at least I hope so! I do like the idea of bulk releases of faction heroes to wet people's appetite, although I don't think any of them have been featured in the fluff yet.

Yea, I think that is part of the problem too. I don't know the new fluff, but I don't recall anyone mentioning new characters other than the demi-gods. A few heroes for the existing races thrown into the fluff would have whetted peoples' appetites, and given GW a handful of new hero models to toss out to old fans to keep them paying attention.

Was the boxed set really as late as July 11th? I'd have sworn we had AoS stuff in June, but maybe that was just the free rules etc.

Yes, the Age of Sigmar boxed set was released on July 11th and previewed in White Dwarf Weekly #75, released on July 3rd.

I actually disagree with sprinkling in other factions and breaking up a major release. If someone likes the faction being released (Harlequin, AdMech, Sigmarite), they will likely buy all or nearly all the releases as they dribble out. The longer they stretch it, the less likely the person who likes the faction will spend, because they'll go do something else in the meantime.

I think the way they did AdMech earlier this year was awesome, for example. The Sigmarites are less awesome, only because I don't love them as much as the AdMech. But at the end of the day, if it's a faction that I want/like, they can release stuff for it every week for a whole year, for all I care.

I think the better way to have done it would be to make everyone happy: every week to release Sigmarites AND a reboxed something else, occasionally with a new model for another faction. Walking is good, and so is chewing gum!

Perhaps, but I think that if they showed people previews of what was to come, renders or greens, then people would get excited and plan to buy new stuff.
